I have dealt with my fair share of rust and I have become pretty familiar with different acids and sand blasting media’s and every sanding/grinding/wire attachment for the right angle grinder and I have tested every pneumatic type of apparatus and I’ve learned that nothing is wonderful on everything but everything has its niche and is wonderful on something and as far as the needle scale as compared to this chisel I was doing structural welding for a few years and when it came to removing this type of heavy rust the chisel was king hands down and one big reason was that it requires far less air to operate so it can keep moving where the scaler has you sitting and waiting on air and if you were a distance from the air supply you could find your scaler doing jack shit where the chisel was able to operate with the losses experienced by long air lines- second was that needle scalers experience many quirky little issues with stuff bouncing out of place and stuff coming loose because it’s a pretty complicated tool compared with the chisel- I love a scaler and use a scaler but if this job was mine and I had to chose I’d choose the chisel hands down but since I don’t have to choose I’d use the chisel first then put the shine on it with the scaler

Can you find what happened? Quick-Glo isn't avalable . It's a mystery. -Quick Glo has disappeared. No one can contact the owner's that made a famous ad with Jay Leno. Inventories have disappeared in the U.S. ,U.K. and Australia. Does anyone know for sure what is happening? I ordered a large supply months ago from their Website which is still running. I rec'd nothing not even an email confirming my order. Quick-glo is the best for chrome and rust and as a preventative. If you know what has happened; please please report on your findings.

Those battery operated hand tools that vibrate for wood working ,do a great job. I have just done this on my chassis on an 8 ton water truck. These tools are made by Making, Ryobi, all the main brands. There is an attachment for metal work. I found it more gentle than the other two, just as effective and easy to hold and operate. But the chisel does work, I just don't think my neighbours would have appreciated it

I've been looking for a new used truck and doing some price comparisons. Vehicles from rust-free areas in the US have about a $2,000 higher blue book value than the same vehicle from rust belt states. Why do we put up with it? There are viable alternatives to salt. Good video and a hell of a good job getting the rust off.

I just have a question, the layer that you removes, Is it an original layer of the car that is be consumed by rust over years ? Or it's an additional layer that have been create by agglomerate corrosion ? For resume, do you "cut" the car, or you only remove a supplementary layer, not an original layer ?

They work better when you have sharp needles. Much safer around brakes line and wiring... and better when you want to get into crevices and tight areas. You can't control that air chisel as well as a needle scaler. But sure, its good to get the big chunks off. The needles are your scaler were totally flat so of course it's not going to work that good.

got one better it's called a media blaster with coarse blast, gets everything and in every part. and the best part you can hook up a water supply to keep the dust down once it dries take acetone to it to do a final cleaning then spray a rust inhibitor on it then what ever paint you want.
