Love it, I think of organization like a helper, that shows up every day, making it easy to get your gear and reminding you when something is missing. I’m in New England as well, down by Foxwoods. I as well am a remodeler/ finish carpenter. I closed on so many estimates before I even gave them numbers from letting the customers do a walk through in the trailer, showing my designs and how I approached problem solving and preparedness. I have a walk through video up here as well. I love how this tool trailer thing is stepping everyone’s game up. Seeing the creativity. Unfortunately, I had a tree fall on my tool trailer so I gotta rebuild. I look forward to version 2 of my set up cause hind sight is 20 20. Hope you have a profitable year!

Thank you. Exactly why I designed it the way I did. I did get some ideas from the Paulk trailer but made it more for my style and crew. I wanted to make it simple and make sure everything had a “home” , my goal was to have anyone be able to find anything/tool within 2 minutes. It has worked flawlessly and makes for a happier working day.

Great video! Guard that trailer, it will attract thieves like crack cocaine. Unless you have a rider policy your insurance will not cover the contents. A friend of mine lost almost every tool he had in a trailer theft. They took it from his driveway after they punctured the tires on his two vehicles, it was found damaged three days later completely empty.

I've been doing high end remodels for years and am envious of your set up. I have an 8' trailer and just feel like I have too many places that's hard to get something larger into. How do you cope?
@chriscont01
@chriscont01 2 жыл бұрын
First thank you Johnny! Yeah there’s definitely a few places where it’s tough luckily my part of Massachusetts there is a lot of large estates with big driveways. My other big motto for our business is we stick with one job till it’s done and pride our self with being efficient so I try to leave the trailer on site for as much as possible. It’s literally like an extension of my body though I have always worked out to trailers I tried vans for a little while and go right back to trailers I always make it work!
@johnnyrottenwood4935
@johnnyrottenwood4935 2 жыл бұрын
@@chriscont01 Our businesses sound very similar. I'm over in WA state and the majority of my remodel work is very old houses in Tacoma. There value is skyrocketing and people are upgrading them. Problem is that not many have driveways. I end up parking in a lot of alleys. I agree about vans. I don't like having my job held up due to mechanical issues so trailers are best. I might pick up a larger trailer in addition to my small one and see if it works out. Thanks for the response!

The trailer dry is 1600 pounds. That’s one of the reasons I went with aluminum help with fuel mileage and efficiency even though I got a big diesel truck. I’m estimating completely loaded with built in shelving I would probably be around 5000 pounds so it leaves me about 2000 pounds for extra material payload. It’s definitely way lighter than my previous set up which was a steel frame carmate 14‘wide

Hey man thanks for the comment! So we only use truck power to power up all the lighting inside. We have an outlet on the front of the trailer that we can plug-in when we’re on site using 120 V that power is up a couple receptacles in there that are hardwired into my compressor and we are currently putting some 120 V lighting in also. We don’t do much new construction so we almost always have power on site so it’s really not something I worry too much about. I keep saying I’m gonna make a new video but we’ve been so busy this summer I’m gonna try to have some downtime in the next few days and get a really good video more in depth let me know if there’s anything specific you’d like me to talk about about the trailer.

That's awesome man thanks for the info. I don't do much new construction either but there has been a time when a homeowner didn't want me to plug in a single DeWalt battery charger and "increasing" their electric bill lol. Also, while building fences, I've found myself wishing I had a small generator or had a 120v receptacle wired to truck power mostly because I didn't feel like running 300ft of extension cord from the house. Keep doing what you're doing man, you're an inspiration to us all! In your next video maybe you could go a little more in depth on the electrical stuff in your trailer! Thanks

The weights actually not that bad. I used a lot of half-inch where I could , also by using the Milwaukee pack out drawers instead of making wooden drawers or buying metal drawers I figure I easily saved myself a few hundred pounds so that was a huge weight saving decision. I’m also able to carry less crap around because I’m so much more organized I can see my inventory pull things when I know I don’t need them add things when I get on need them. So far trailer has handled it fine and The time it saves me is worth it. This is what I consider more of a job site trailer we move it from site to site and try not to tell it on a daily basis. We are usually on our jobs for three weeks average.
