Owning and using both Oticon and Phonak Roger iN remote microphones I agree they can make a Great difference. It's worth mentioning that a good over the ear noise cancelling headset can add immensely to comprehension for this and other streaming environments. In this case the OTE headset is not using Bluetooth to stream but simply cancelling the surrounding noise while your hearing aids still do the streaming work. A very simple, cheap and effective upgrade. Borrow a pair and hear for yourself. Streaming pointer mics always work best near the sound source but can they also be helpful handheld. taped to a forearm or coupled with a small parabolic pointing device, such as you might use for bird watching. Remote mics are wonderful and versatile but I believe they could do a better job of noise reduction and better yet, real noise cancellation

I have a Bernafon SoundClip A, (a sister company to Onticon), which seems to be the same as an Oticon ConnectClip, and use it to connect to my work cell phone so that I accept incoming calls through my hearing aids. It works great.

Background noise is probably difficult for everyone whether you have a hearing loss or not. I really value clarity as far as sound quality goes. Direct streaming, telecoils, induction loops and microphones make so much difference in clarity and ease of understanding speech in difficult listening situations. Making sure you have the correct features in your devices to support assistive listening devices is key. Using remote microphones makes a world of difference.

How often do you have to do real ear measurements on your hearing aids?

I use Widex & have the remote microphone. I place it on a table when the family is eating out but then I get background noise, too. Are there any solutions?

i’d like to know the rough cost of these proprietary devices - guess they’re not cheap. whether the intercommunication is proprietary & whether standard bluetooth mikes, as used in video blogging, will work with majority of bluetooth hearing aids. and if not, what readily available components might be used for cheap solution to hearing conversation in noisy situations. i’m thinking of noise canceling headphones/earbuds & one or more lapel mike(s) working together via cords or Bluetooth. and with some noise limiting if needed to protect the ears.

I have the Phonak Roger remote mics. They do work and I use them. My question is slightly off topic but still on accessories; Any info on neuro stimulation devices to aid hearing, such as the Neosensory Clarify wristband?

Does ReSound have remote microphones for the ReSound Omnia 9?

What if I don’t use otocon brand?

Both of the Oticon microphones are so expensive. I wish I could find them cheaper.
