This is the animal that made me realise I have trypophobia. I saw an illustration of one a long time ago in a book about weird animals. I couldn't stop staring at it and I went home and looked it up just to look at it. It gave me goosebumps thinking about it but I couldn't take my eyes off it.

I don't get why people take is as scary. Its very satisfying for me and I love to watch videos like these. The only thing that triggered me was the spiders, especially the "hairball" at the beginning. But I don't have trypophobia.

I have that phobia ever since I saw the Suriname toad in a biology book from 1943 that's in my house. It was so scary because it showed the process on how they incubate and hatch the eggs.

my personal trypophobia trigger is pompholyx or dishydrotic eczema (they're two names for the same thing), it causes these awful gatherings of blisters on the hands and feet and bad cases just look completely insane.

I didn't know about the suriname frog. For some reason, I actually find it fascinating and nonrepulsive that the female carries offspring this way (but I can see how it tops the list).

The human brain is wired to look for patterns. The lack of discernable patterns is unsettling because the brain can't find a pattern. It's like the brain is having the utmost trouble with patterns recognition. Patterns feel good when one is found, and patterns are satisfying. Thus, a lack of patterns just feels unsatisfying and unsettling. The feeling of not finding pattern recognition gives you the unsettling feeling that you are feeling right now.

Check out a hornworm caterpillar with wasp eggs.. I had one on one of my tomato plants, that's how I discovered it. There a wasp that lays it's eggs in the caterpillar and it looks pretty wild!

I don’t have this phobia and I didn’t find the toad bad. But one that did get to me was on another video. It was a monkey that lives in Central America and was infested with some sort of parasite. It had been captured and a vet was trying to remove the parasites. The parasites had begun drilling into the skin after they’d hatched so there were holes involved although not regular holes. I don’t know if the monkey survived, it had a ton of these things all over it’s body.
