As the Idahoan explains, the best wake-up light on the market is actually a product designed for something else . . .

My alarm clocks blasts a chosen piece of music...as jolt me awake, unless I am just totally 'dead' to the world :P

Reading light on a timer works for me, I'm usually awake before it turns on! Nice one mate 👍 Cheers and all the best to you and yours 👍 🍻

I got the biggest wifi RGB LED bulb Icould find (an Athom one) and control it with the free HomeAssistant software. This does not send data to the mothership and does a lot of other home and horticultural control stuff.

I hooked a piezo transducer to Arduino, placed it under my mattress and when my wake up time approaches and I move in bed it beeps once a minute.

I cover my face with a dark T-shirt, to block light from my eyes and keep my bald head warm. So, no light short of a thermal lance is going to wake me. I would like to be woken by bird noises. These would start gently, then increase in intensity over 10 minutes, until it seems the room is replete with dueling roosters. The Australian market might prefer the sound of Tasmanian devils fighting.
