Do you know how to descale a kettle without using expensive chemical products? Vinegar is the easiest and cheapest way to completely remove limescale. Just boil the vinegar and give it some time to dissolve the limescale completely (length of time will vary depending on the severity of the problem), this will leave your kettle gleaming like new. Regular descaling also extends its life. So next time your kettle has lots of floaters and looks like it's on its last legs don't rush to the shops, just reach for the vinegar bottle instead - it will do the trick at considerably less cost.

I was looking at taps and anywhere where tap water is used and the amount of chemicals and lime scale from hard water building up is kind of scary… To think this stuff is going into peoples bodies is disgusting. If these things found in tap water can do this to a machine, what is it doing to peoples bodies??? Might this be the reason so many people are so sick from drinking tea and coffee all the time after using tap water?? I bought my mum and sister new kettles and told them to only use bottled water at level ph 7 in their letters as it is horrifying to think what’s going into their bodies from this water, and since using bottled water from the past week or 2 I have seen no evidence of limescale in their kettles. Even if you get a drop of water on a piece of glass you can see the chemical and limescale deposits on the glass and it is not even that much quantity of water. Look around and ask yourself these about these things, you should be worried about this stuff if you want to stay healthy and not destroy your body.

Use citric acid crystals for the inside and you won't even have to scrape. It leaves no smell. Fill up your kettle with water, turn on the kettle, as it starts to boil add 1 table spoon of the citric acid crystals and then turn off the kettle when the water starts to boil and leave it for about 30 minutes. For more stubborn limescales just add half a spoon of it again and bring to boil once again and turn it off. I learnt this from my mother and it works really well. I do this once a month and it literally takes me about 15 minutes and the kettle looks brand new on the inside.

I've only seen citric acid as a powder. Are crystals bigger chunks? And do you get it in supermarkets?
@togce
@togce 9 ай бұрын
@@Fmohazh yes they are bigger chunks. I usually buy it from Turkish supermarkets. The powder should also work.

You can use a lemon or any citrus fruit, works better than vinegar no scrubbing needed

I’ve done this for decades, soaking kitchen paper. Once I even had a dark stain on my porcelain sink that nothing would even touch. I had managed to spill some silver nitrate solution (lapis) without even noticing until later, when it had oxidiced and formed that dark brown discoloration. I tried everything I could think of, to no avail. Then my very last straw was that I thought of hydrogen peroxide, so off to the pharmacy I went, to get 10% peroxide. I soaked paper towels in it and left it on top of the stain for a few hours. When I lifted it, the stain had disappeared completely! I was sooo relieved, otherwise I would’ve had to buy a new sink! 🤗

just chucked it in the second boil. it's designed to withstand boiling temps. If you didn't want to do that you could use the technicque of applying vinegar soaked strips and finish with a old tooth brush.

I don't believe this person and the relatively neat and clean eniornement around him would use a breville electric hot water kettle in that condition... I suspect he put toothpaste on that kettle for a video.
