It's like ppl don't understand. that ppl had locs, before all of these "loc"products & dryers were even invented. Rastafarians aren't sitting under dryers 😂

I think it depends on where you live. I don't live in a warm climate. I live in an area where it's only hot 3 months out the year. Winter where I live we have blizzards. My hair even when I was a loose natural took forever to dry. I have always used water based products. If I tried to air dry my hair would still be wet at bed time. Rastafarians mostly reside in warm climates so that has a lot to do with whether or not to air dry in my opinion. I do a combination of 3 things. I use a microfiber towel to soak up as much of the water as possible. I air dry until 2 hours before bed time, then I sit under a hooded dryer on medium heat until fully dry.

I have 240 micro locs so they dry within a few hours. I think thicker locs run a bigger risk of taking a long time to dry. My method is to wrap my locs in a t shirt and when it gets too wet I switch to a new one. After that I, let my locs hang and air dry the rest of the way.

I air dry. But 1st I use a micro fiber towel to absorb most of the moisture. I then moisturize and let it air dry from there. And that's not putting it up in a ponytail (which I can't do with this set yet anyway 🤣). It's having my locs down so that air flow can dry them. I always wash in the morning so that by the time I go to sleep, I'm not sleeping on wet locs tied up for the night. If my hair is still damp, then I will break out my dryer. My scalp is sensitive so I dry on cool setting. No mold here!

I air dry. I hate the hooded dryer which always made my hair feel crispy after a retwist. Also I got locs to avoid using heat on my hair so yea... After washing I use a black old t-shirt or black microfiber towel (which is very absorbent). Section my hair and squeeze with the towel (not wring! Gently squeeze) And leave my locs loose to dry the rest of the way.

I just got finished washing my hair girl and you answered my question cuz I was using my towel to get the drip Wellness from the bottom and now I'm using my fan while sitting here watching TV and now I'm about to go out because I do not like a dryer

I actually started with air drying and with In 3 months my hair started smelling 👎🏽so now after a retwist I used the dryer for a few min just to get ride of the extra water in my hair.

I sit my daughter in front of a fan on full blast. She has about 600 microlocks, so I guess the fact that they are tiny does help. She's just 5 years old so she can't stand the heat and having the giant cap on her head for minutes on end. She doesn't mind the fan one bit, and after 15 minutes she's good to go and can air dry what's left, so long as her hair is down (it's down to a little longer than arm pit length now). I have just under 250 locks, so I can't get away without using a little heat to dry my hair. I then use the residual moisture (when it's down to just damp) to set my hair into a style. I haven't noticed any residual smell in either of our locs.

Funny, I was considering washing and retwisting my hurrr and letting it air dry...yep this late lmao.
