Sitting under a dryer will not stop your hair from unraveling. The roots are going to unravel with new grow regardless

Oldie, but Goodie. Thank you for sharing. For my method, I extract as much water as possible from my locs using microfiber towels (3-4 towels to be exact). Then, I use the bonnet hair dryer. This works wonders.

My locs are 10 months old. The lady that started them always bought her big portable sit down under dryer. Now that I'm doing them myself I've been air drying. They look just ok. Today I retwisted and pulled out the dryer bought and made myself sit under it for 30 minutes. It made a huge difference, I would not air dry anymore.

@@thedigitalloctician so after 2 different times washing and sitting under the dryer my scalp was screaming at me. Today I washed and didn't sit under the dryer and my scalp finally feels soothed. Sadly, my seborrheic dermatitis doesn't allow *me* to sit under the dryer. No crispy retwist for me and some of my locs will just have to be flat.😕 I feel a little defeated but it's OK. I wash first thing in the morning and air dry all day. I didn't get mold/mildew with my 1st set I had for 12 years so I'm not worried about that part. Thanks so much for your knowledge!

I feel you. I have the same diagnosis and it’s miserable. I was blessed to find a loctician in Chicago who healed my scalp. My scalp used to look like cradle cap & snow flakes. Constant itch. I couldn’t let my hair be pent up because i would scratch sores in my head. I had to go to her every 30 days and she forbid me to wash my own hair. It was like a miracle to finally be free.

Hi, thank you for the video. I’m 4 months loc’d now and think it’s time I bought a hooded bonnet, if I’m washing and drying my locs with the blow dryer & bonnet once a week, should I be spraying heat protectant on my locs right before starting to dry them? Thanks 😊

My question is won't drying my hair be drying to my hair?I went from being a loose natural to a locked natural never using a dryer. I have not used oils or any other products besides my moisturizing shampoo,In 5 months (I've been locked for 2 ) I really don't want to go back to oils ,I wash my hair every 2-3 weeks oils makes my hair get dirtier faster and honestly I feel like it was clogging my scalp. And since I have stopped using them my hair has taken off.

@@phatcutie35 I want to acknowledge your question and hope that you know this response is coming from a place of love.... The purpose of the dryer is to dry, so yes your hair will feel dry. Also considering that you are not putting anything into your hair to help it retain moisture then, more than likely, your hair will feel much dryer than someone who buffers their drying experience with lightweight oils. I hope that helped to answer your question.

@@thedigitalloctician yes ty, it was my anxiety at having to use oils again I remember another video you had that helped me a lot when you were talking about the core of the hair being well moisturized ,even if it feels dry on the outside I was having a problem with the different textures of locs from loose hair it forced me to get to know my hair and to stop treating my hair like I did my loose hair.
