Have you ever tried colossal red king crabs from Costco? They used to be in every Costco before a fishing restriction but they’re starting to pop back up. U can also order them online, but Costco would have them for significantly less(more than 50%)than anywhere online. They are huge & imo so much tastier than blue crab. They’re also super easy to crack. The legs are prob 3-4x larger than the king crab legs u had on your trying different crabs segment. If u see them give them a try. U won’t regret it!

Save the mustard to make crab compound butter. Very good with crab scrambled eggs or seafood fried rice

Love blue crabs. Haven't had them often enough to be efficient at picking them. Good to see how you do it.

What is the mustard and what does it taste like?

It’s very rich with a little bit of bitterness. It’s the liver/pancreas of the crab

I made Asian style marinated raw crabs for the first time last week. Surprisingly good. The vinegar in the marinade softens the shell a little too so you can just smash the meat out like a grape. I will make them again. You should try it too Rob. I know you like sauces and spices and things.

Are you a mustard fan tho? I'm kinda not, buttt sometimes a good sweet piece of meat n a lil bit of mustard can be GOOD.

This is the second time I’m recommending it but you have to try it, apple cider vinegar, fish sauce, pepper and a little crab boil. Delicious on oyster and with blue crab. I even tried it last night with a little chopped onion for texture and that was very good.

The thing with maryland crabs is to not try to eat the lungs. They may look edible, but they are NOT. Imho, ypu take to many steps to eat the crabs. Its not surgery. Pull off the top using the sex id notch on the bottom. Snap in half. Snap off claws. Eat as many as you can l, as fast as you can before the hot butter goes cold. If you sint covered in butter and old bay. You aint doing it right. No 8dea what he is talking about scraping the shell.

We never see a wife or significant other helping you. How does she enjoy helping with/enjoying your food? Or is she all about pointing out things wrong or the crab's small size?
