Actually I've done callisia repens propagation couple of times about last year for the experiment.
at first, most of them were doing quite well but eventually only left about 30%..
Last time, I changed the way of propagate callisia repens plant.
Instead of keeping it outside, I propagate callisia pink lady cuttings and keep them in the container.
fortunately they were doing quite well, and I would say, it was the best result that I made ever before.

I got a pink lady plant, maybe 3 or 4 months ago. It's pretty much dead now. Either I watered it too much or not enough. I'm not sure bcuz it would do well for a couple weeks, then the leaves would get crispy, then they would get mushy. I got fungus gnats so I sprayed it with insecticidal soap, peroxide and water mixture and it got droopy. Then it was OK until I sprayed it again. So frustrating. Anyways I tried to cut the healthy bits and I'm propagating them now. I already propagated some stems and they are doing OK. But they seem to keep dying. So I don't have many stems left. I just pray that the ones I just trimmed off will grow and keep growing. That way I can propagate, my propations lol🤞🤞🙏🙏🙏🙏

sorry to hear that your callisia didin't grow well and had to propagate to keep the plant alive. in my experience, when I propagate the stem, giving moist condition was bit helpful to root it until its establish on soil. (but I tried to make sure to open the box at least once a day to give fresh air and bit control the humidity) Hope your cuttings root well and grow 🙌🙌

Stumble upon this, and i have 1 tiny pot of it and not sure how it grows but it develop fast roots in sphagnum moss propagation easily. It loves humidity.

I just bought a couple of these little beauties! I’m glad to know how I can make more! I think mine could probably be trimmed back a bit since they’re a bit leggy and maybe they’ll prop well! Thanks for the video!

@@ssnguyen2002 I personally prefer to use well draining potting mix. Fertilizer is slow release fertilizer worked for me 🌱

Ty for the tips! Mine just died and I managed to save some clippings! So imma try this out. I realize my soil wasn't well draining enough. It just started to shrivel up from underneath and the leaves just started to come off like tissue 🥲

I bought a plant while my bf and I were on vacation and we like stopping along the way on our way back home at thrift or antique shops I picked up a plant that didn’t have a tag in it but I rem the other little pots had tags that said kitten ears. When I Google it it comes up a picture of the pink panther/ pink lady but mine is all green in color but looks very similar to the pink lady So I’m not sure what I really have to care or try to propagate.

Hello, Deborah for me, I havent seen different variety of callisia so far... ( only green color with same looking with this plant) but one of the great way to check would be give a bit of fertilizer and prune, watered well and place them in a good light position, you may able to check whether it is callisia or not as if its callisia pink lady (or pink panther) it will slowely turn into pink color or generate new pink foliage :)

What fertilizer do you use? And is it good to keep them wih the cointernet closed? Cheers!

Hello Dylan, Yes it's okay to close the container. However, I open the container and fan to help air circulation once to twice in a day. Regarding the fertilizer, I used ozmocote brand indoor plant fertilizer. Hope that answered the question :)

Thank you for your kind words Khan Even I covered the lead, every day I open and let the air ventilated for 10~20min. So I would say, prob better to help circulate the air and keep the soil moist. The winner will be announce on 30th Dec, and let's see how it go 😂

Mine just dying after 2 week i bought it, I live in tropical climate, try to keep it moist but the stem keep being soggy , i use well drain succulent soil. i try again but nothing improve at this time.😓...

Its sorry to hear that... Im not 100% sure but if the stem was being soggy, it may caused by root rotting from the soil. Its kind of funny to say but, when I purchased a succulent soil from garden stores, the products were mostly just mixure of normal potting mix with bit of perlite which doesnt feel suitable for me to use to grow succulent or those plant. With that reason, I mostly just use the custom potting mix for well draining required plant. hope your next time plant grow well

Do you lock the container or some hole in container do you spray water every day?

hello, I closed the container. the container dosnet have hole but, even close the container, there is slight gap betwen the lid and container so, Im guessing there was a bit of air circulation. however, everyday, before I go work and after comback from work, I open the lid and give a fan for little and put the lid on. about the water wise, I sprayed whenever the top soil is slightly dry, and I think I water about once in 4~5 days (I'm not 100% sure though) its totally depends on the soil condition

I'm using a customed potting mix which is mixture of orchid bark, horticulture charcoal, perlite, coco peat :)

Hi, yes. The soil mixture would be, Orchid bark, perlite, horticulture charcoal, and some coco peat. Hope that answered your question :)
