Two observations, one you don't have nearly if hardly any spray all over your legs that I'd expect from a line-trimmer. And two, you're not wearing safety glasses - consider that choice, I had trimmer heads grab rocks and shatter my face shield. Very rare but it does happen. And had to edit for another point, THREE love that bridge with the big red barn in the background. What a beautiful property...thanks for the video.

There's a honeymoon period for this head where people love it, and it is a cool design. When they've used it a while, the honeymoon is over. Users find the plastic string holders melt, deform, and jam. The magnetic pins jam up with weeds and are hard to remove. If a $45 dollar head lasts 1 summer, and a $15 head lasts 1 summer, better off buying a cheap one, right? Or, just muddle along with the bump head that came with your trimmer, and learn to use it. They're a headache, but last more than a summer.

@@WHOTEEWHO You've been lucky, the Amazon reviews report problems. I am not running down the Badger Head. I think it's the best in class, but it's a very weak class. None of the pivoting heads work or last very long in tough conditions. They take a brutal beating, and the working parts are exposed to near supersonic weed stems. The Pros seem to stick to the bump heads, they seem to like the Echo heads.

My 1st gas trimmer was a weed-eater brand also, it was a curved shaft, was powerful and lightweight, the only issue was the bump head, had issues resetting the string every time while weed trimming. Don’t have that weed-eater anymore. Wish I would’ve had the badger head or a different type of hassle free head so cause the bump head was a pain to reset the line.

Can you replace the string in the bits when it wears down with your own string or do you have to buy more of their string bits? It looks like a great trimmer head, but if you have to keep buying their string every time it wears down it wont be worth it for me, because I'll be buying the string all the time and that will add up big. If you can replace it with your own string it would be worth it.
@WHOTEEWHO
@WHOTEEWHO 6 жыл бұрын
You can use any type of string. They dont even make any string, meant to be used with any string, or blade u can find off the shelf
@Mr_Tecumseh
@Mr_Tecumseh 6 жыл бұрын
Okay great, I can slide my own string into the plastic holders where the things click onto the head. Than that make is worth it. I can take my big roll of string and cut a bunch too the size needed and have them on hand to replace when the string wears out. That makes it worth it than, it wont cost much. I am going to give the badger a try. Thanks for the video.

Yea the 25-2 auto cut. That's whats on my FS80R. When I need to go into even thicker stuff I just throw on the 3 tip steel blade. But what were talking about here is trying out other products to see how they work. Personally I prefer .095 stihl x line or the cyclone line. I was never a big fan of the square style that is the gatorline. Its to hard for just normal trimming where the mower cant get. The x line can deal with both tough spots and areas where your just doing a quick trim very well.

How many cc's does the weed eater have? It seems small yet turns the head with no problems. I would love to know the total weight of the head with the line. I read the pins attach magnetically, yet the bottom is aluminum, I wished you had shown how that part works. Finally the line looks huge, much bigger than .095. What size is it? Would have been nice to have seen you restring it start to finish. I guess I just wanted more up close and detail. It looks like a great design. Can .080 line be used, sorry if you addressed it in the vid. When did the Badger Head hit the market? I only have a few days to make a decision. Thanks for the demo man!! Well done.

SUPER SNAKE - We are manufacturer of product. WHO_TEE_WHO did a great job explaining our product and we are so happy that he likes it. The line in the video is Shakespeare Ugly line 0.095". The product was designed to work with users favorite line including 0.080". We have tested and tend to link the 0.095" better but that is just choice. The other thing that is unique is the ability to use 2 or 4 cut mediums. For higher CC engines, use 4 cut mediums. For lower CC engines or thick grass, etc - you can take 2 out and use just 2 if engine seems to be working too hard. The product is brand new to the market and available through www.thebadgerhead.com and also amazaon at www.amazon.com/dp/B0745VFQ11. We would be happy to answer any other questions you may have via info@thebadgerhead.com.

Hey SUPER SNAKE! The weed eater here is a Weed Eater brand 25cc engine straight shaft trimmer. With the factory head and a few other I have had issues with this trimmer having enough power to trim the thick stuff; but with the Badger Head I am now able to cut through everything like butter! Like Vennovate Labs said, you also have the ability to choose how many blades/strings you want to use.

$50 on Amazon...and lot's of bad reviews. I know...EVERYTHING has bad reviews..makes it very hard to decide which product to take a chance on. For me, it won't be the one that costs $50.

Be careful with the metal blades! They can do serious damage to your legs! Should have some kind of guard on that! I cut my leg open once with a circular saw blade on the end of one of those. It kicked back becuase I hit a thick branch by accident and slammed right into my leg. I never again will put a metal blade on the end of a weed wacker. Even with a guard its still dangerous. They make brush cutting tools that look like your average weed eater but with special handles and a harness to have 10x better control over it. You don't have much control with weedwackers they weren't made to do heavy brush i found out the hard way! 5 stitches internally and 11 on the outside!

Hey this BadgerHead looks really good... But I would like to ask you to please wear some eye protection. You've only got two eyes and I don't think they have perfected eye transplants yet. I'm just saying... Thanks for the videos and reviews! Keep up the great stuff, Safely.

+vegass04 isnt the 555 a chainsaw? Also very doubtful 3mm line can quickly cut through trees wider than your thumb like here in the video. Thanks for watching!

Doesn't look good, looks like you waste a whole lot of string with that thing and probably time changing it when it gets too short, mine just has a button in the middle to auto feed, I came across this video looking for something that works better than what I have, and this is not it.

100% piece of junk. Do what us pros do, run a tap head without a guard. Trim the line on a obstacle. Done.

I will NEVER AGAIN use a tap/bump head on any trimmer I own. Told myself that 25 years ago. I help do the lawn care at the church I attend. They have bump head trimmers. Was so glad I carried my own trimmer with me. Currently have a Shakespeare pivot head on it.
