This is the Badgerhead trimmer attachment. After my first use I am impressed. I enjoy using a quick attach trimmer head with multiple lines vs pop heads with line feed. I really like that it is simple and easy to swap between string and cutting blades. The head is heavy but not too bad because the unit is compact.

I've seen gliders with a ball under the head so you can slide trimmer head on the ground. Looks like it would save you back. But can't seem to find one.

I watched this video and ordered one two weeks ago and have not got it yet or herd any thing from company . So I did some research and have not seen any updates on this product from any body for two years I hope they are still in business , other than just to collect money.

I wonder how much horsepower is eaten up by flying so many strings. I have the same weedeater but use the bump head, three blade fixed, and sawblade head with great success. Also our grass hasn't started growing yet.
@vennovatelabs8427
@vennovatelabs8427 6 жыл бұрын
Joe Malovich. You do not have to run all 4. You can use only 2 opposite of each other. We have a small $90 weed eater and we typically only run 2 lines in this. Our stihl units have no problem running 4.

Our grass has just started here. We keep getting snow and its mid April ha! I was pleasantly surprised that the weight of this trimmer head did not cause any slowdown. My first impression is a good one.

I have a Pivotrim that I use with my 25cc Honda trimmer and when I put in all 4 lines, the extra drag can bog it down quickly and very noticeably when cutting wet green grass. With dry grass, the problem is not as noticeable. It's true you can use two strings instead of four to reduce drag, but then the strings will wear very quickly and you lose the benefits of the pivoting head.

@@LandtoHouse Well how your weedeating technique appears you probably have to start in winter just to get it finished by fall.

Can you do a demonstration using the four lines to do some edging? I'm interested to see if it performs better than a normal trimmer head.
@LandtoHouse

I used this for about 30min yesterday and it worked well for edging. I actually removed two of the strings and used it with two. I find that the extra two add a lot of weight.

I like this head a lot. The only issue that I had was with line that is too small for the yellow attachments. After 10 to 20min of cutting the line would slip out. Larger line was better. I guess that is .95 line vs .8. Can't remember.

The line you using seems a bit "soft". I use a .155 line from Oregon because of heavy brush. It is kind of stiff. Will this fit?

I think the way it screws on in the opposite direction of the way the weed eater design could be a hazard. Could vibrate loose and cause harm to yourselves or others. Other than that. I agree ☝️

It does seems like it should thread the same as the trimmer. That would keep it on while spinning. I guess time will tell with the locking nut.

How is the best way to clean the badger head. I used mine and it is pretty caked up with weed juice.
@LandtoHouse
@LandtoHouse 5 жыл бұрын
I am known for letting the weed juice dry and then just pull it off. Probably better to wash it with a garden hose before then. Seems like the unit is coated so should not rust.

4 double lines will challenge the most powerful gas trimmer. For cordless, probably best to use 2 single lines. I would fear the holes the magnetic pins fit into would wallow out over extended use.
@LandtoHouse
@LandtoHouse 5 жыл бұрын
I like to use 2 lines at a time and keep replacement for the other holes. So far with about 25 hours of use the unit is still going strong.

I am still testing mine. Only problem so far is that because of the right and screws of the extension unit, it has a tendency to wind off, resulting in the head flying off. Would have been better with left hand screws.
