This is one of the more in depth unboxing and review videos I've seen on this fightstick. It's informative and detailed. Your video has convinced me that this would be a good purchase to add to my Switch controller collection. Thank you for doing such a great job! Keep up the good work! P.S. It would be nice to see some additional mods done to this stick. Especially how difficult it would be to swap out the buttons to Sanwa's, Seimitsu's, or Crown/Samducksa's.

Thank you very much for your feedback! It's great to see work being appreciated! I wish you all the best of luck and fun using your new arcade stick, it truly is an awesome accessory! As for the mods, I'll be more than happy to get started in those. It'll be in quite a while though as I've lined up plenty of other reviews first but I'll be sure to keep you informed on any such videos.

The downside is that you have to provide two AA batteries if you want to play it wirelessly. And I'll be making a third artwork, so that I can alternate the buttons as following -- Type 1 (CPS Fighter layout)-- L, X, R, ZL Y, B, A, ZR Type 2 -- Y, X, L, ZL B, A, R, ZR If you're getting different color buttons, you must alternate the buttons between two types of button layouts...

If it's your intention of printing it to cut and place it on the stick I'd suggest stick to PDF format. If you really want to go for JPG, it should be as easy as saving as JPG from your Photoshop file... At least I did so too, saved in PDF, JPG and PNG to be sure. Can you give some more specifics as to your purpose and which of the 3 download files you have used?

@NintendoKid

Good question! I don't have such spare parts laying around really... For that price too it's quite a long shot to just order them and try. Perhaps for this specific question it'll be better to shoot a mail to PowerA directly. I've read that there are some differences which require some additional modding, so it might be a little more work to get it done.

The only thing that prevents me from buying this, is how much your hand sticks out from the stick. I don't know why they put the stick all the way at the end of the base. It's on sale for $65 on Amazon for those interested.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed that. That’s what stopped me from buying this also. That has to feel uncomfortable. They shoulda made it a bit big so the hand can rest comfortably.

It works perfectly for the KOF games which are in the ACA Neo-Geo series. Of course, if you wanna have the same layout as the Neo-Geo stick, you gotta tweak the button mapping: A on the B button B on the Y button C on the X button D on the L button.

The buttons seems a bit loud. Kinda clicky sounding. Is that from the switches, the resonance from the stick body, or simply the location of the mic during play? I’m thinking of this but I’ll probably try to install some extra Sanwa silent buttons, if I can. How was the tension on the lever? Thanks for this excellent review!
@Scragg-
@Scragg- 3 жыл бұрын
If you mod the switches by removing the tactile leaf on the inside of the alps switches inside the buttons they aren’t too bad. I lubed the stem of the switch on the contact surface with krytox 205g0 and they are now buttery smoothe linear switches Edit: the lever is a standard sanwa lever from what I can tell, it comes with a sanwa octagonal gate as well
@FioFirefox
@FioFirefox 3 жыл бұрын
@@Scragg- That sounds like a good plan. Since this will be just for casual play on my Switch at home, I don’t think it’s worth investing in a new Sanwa lever. If I can quiet down those buttons, this would be nice to have upstairs. Worst to worst, Sanwa buttons are not expensive. I may have enough extra buttons around here now... Thanks for the info! It’s looking like the price I scooped this for on Amazon will be excellent after a few cheap mods. (Far cheaper than a Brook Wireless Fighting Board and battery!)
@NintendoKid
@NintendoKid 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and checking in! As far as the loudness if the buttons, I can say a few things about them. First off, I do think it's the resonance from the body indeed, don't think it's so much the actual switches, those seem to be just fine the way they are. Secondly, yes, the mic was placed pretty close to the arcade stick during recording. As far as the tension on the lever goes, that is just fine. It's obviously not the highest grate out there, but at this price point given the full scope of the stick it's nothing to complain about at all Hope this helps!

I have to say for the price this stick... sucks. Way more expensive than the 8BitDo which is better, nearly the price of the Hrap 4 Switch which is overall better. No Sanwa or any special parts, you need a battery which is just a no go and the stick is way to close on the edge depending on your playstyle. Overall just a bad product for the price you pay

I think using regular batteries is very interesting in the long run. After some years it is more convenient AA Batteries than changing an internal battery.

I would not trust a word this guy says he has zero clue about what he's talking about. -"AMAZING 6 BUTTONS" pretty much ever fight stick has 6 main buttons - "huge box" it's pretty small for a fight stick maybe a bit bigger then a qumba drone stick - seeing the molded logo and says " they spared no expense" it's a relatively cheap stick whit fake Sanwa parts adding a molded logo ads no cost - "battery mode switch genius" no sorry it would just be brain dead if they didn't have that - octogate just cringe - he did not even talk about how it's powered by two double-A batteries if he knows fightsticks he would no that's abnormal - there are other sticks for around the same price that blows this away
