In the American west, the heel of cowboy boots is determined by the activities regularly performed. A slightly smaller heel on the western boot is available for walking comfort. However for regular ranch work as well as rodeos, the roper is the go-to 👢 which features a bigger heel & toe and the heel is closer to one inch and better suited for running yet won't get caught in the stirrups on horseback.
