I'm so glad you said this. As messed up as Paulie could be at times, his heart was in the right place whenever it truly counted. I love the evolution of Adrian and Rocky as characters. In Rocky 1 he was on his own to go the distance, unable to ask for Adrian's help, but she gave it anyway. Rocky 2 he needed Adrians support to even step in the ring and she provided it. Rocky 3 she had to convince him to fight again (the beach scene is magnificent; she's not going to stay with a guy that won't face his biggest fears). Rocky 4 he's going to do it with or without her and she finally sees that this is my man and I've got to support him no matter what the outcome. In my opinion the Rocky saga is more a love story than it is a boxing saga. I'm 53, divorced and have 2 sons. I would love to know I have earned that level of love and respect from a woman. Slugger vs Outside Boxer. Sluggers put all their points into strength and starter invulnerability, able to absorb hits to close in and end the fight in the first few rounds. Outside Boxing is hard for sluggers to deal with because they play defense and strategize, using counter strikes at opportune moments. It looked like Rocky switched from swarmer to outside boxer. First he unleashed on him and seeing he was absorbing the hits, went to strategy and allowed Clubber to swing himself out, then went back to agressive swarming once Clubber started to show he ran out of fuel.

It’s funny how rocky went from this to just standing and taking it against Drago

this rematch was great, but the best scene of the movie still wasn't this one. it was the one where adrian lit into rocky on the beach after he wasn't giving it his usual all. after her scolding n motivation that's where everything changed n he became rocky again. best scene of the movie in my opinion n one of the best in the whole series too.

Rocky wasn't a strong puncher but he could definitely take the punishment. Maybe we'll see Clubbers son in Creed 3.

Same way Hulk Hogan used to decide that an opponent's punches didn't hurt anymore. Okay, it's boxing vs. wrestling, but similar, at least.

I've read in a few places where a future Creed film would have Clubber seeking revenge like Drago did. My question is, why? What does Clubber have to get revenge for? Remember, he originally went into fighting because he was disgusted that Rocky won the title, only to become a spiritless fighter who only took on easy opponents. Then Clubber believed Rocky was ducking him when Balboa knew none of this. In their second fight, Rocky won but did Clubber really lose? I mean he finally faced a hungry Balboa who proved he deserved the belt, he got to be champ, and despite his claims, he probably walked away with a nice amount of cash to live. If you think about it, Clubber Lang got everything he wanted: Money, fame, and a front row seat to Rocky Balboa as a true champion. I just don't see him as an antagonist in the future because he should be living well and happy afterward.
