As there is very little chance of me ever stepping foot in Vietnam, this is like a window into their culture and you dont really see people showing this angle. Pigs are life. Without pigs many deaths because many people are diabetic. Among Muslims we also have diabetics and they know very well that insulin comes from pigs. Play stupid and use pig insulin yourself. Without insulin the Muslims will die out. Chewing gum and almost all sweets contain pig remains.Now hospitals in most countries are using pig organs to save lives.

@Enforcedcraft 10 ай бұрын
Wallahi Akhi you are better then this. Don't buy into the pescatarian as it really deprives your body of Important stuff cause you can see studies done by independent researches that said that our way of eating meaning all food should be eaten(they intook all dietary options like Keto, Vegan, Vegetarian etc.) as all food has its benifits, Dairy gives us Protein and Carbs, Animal product as well bigger protein portions and other stuff. I will not go into the detail as Its too long to explain but really depriving yourself from any meat is just gonna lead you to chug pills for the missing Vitamins and stuff that is needed to your body. I'm not saying never do it but just so you know.

À, dân Hồi ở VN uống bia rượu như uống nước lã nha, bạn không nghe nhầm đâu, tuy đạo Hồi mà uống như bợm nhậu vậy đó, về miền Tây ở An Giang có làng đạo Hồi luôn đó, má ơi nhậu phải gọi là két này qua két khác, nhậu vô xỉn xỉn ca hát karaoke rồi lấy lội đập phá y chang dân Kinh mình, không khác xu ke nào luôn.

When they wrote that book of yours, did they consider that they'd have to expand what you can eat? Or is it just this one animal in particular for no apparent reason? Do you get smitten if you eat pork? What if you eat pork and didn't know it was pork? Would Allah just condemn you to an eternity of suffering cause you ate this one particular animal he created but hates with a passion (in this era of course, we have no mention of pig dinosaurs I guess) for some reason?

I was so happy this showed up in my algorithim!!! I'm Vietnamese but I converted to Islam two years ago. I went back to Vietnam with my father to his home in Saigon but I never saw any muslims (I was not muslim then). I currently live in a multicultural Canadian city but I have yet to encounter any vietnamese muslim, either. Honestly this makes me feel so happy seeing other people like me. Mashallah. I also want to address 10:50 about the dietary restrictions: We follow the quran and the sunnah of the prophet (sallahu alayhi wa salam). Whatever is haram cannot be made halal. The haram is NOT "dependent" on the area that we live in. Haram is haram. What can change this rule, however, is people's understanding of what is haram or halal based on their level of islamic knowledge or school they follow. Islam on its own is immutable and never changing, but people are prone to make mistakes. This wikipedia article is pretty accurate en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_dietary_laws And I'd recommend Sahih Bukhari who is a highly regarded scholar that recorded interactions and sayings attributed to the prophet muhammad (sallahu alayhi wasalam) with regards to dietary restrictions.

If u learn more deeply about the halal and haram, especially in terms of madhab (school of thoughts) there are lots of opinion. Maliki madhab is the most loose madhab for the halal and haram, but doesn't mean that they are not okay. Shafie madhab allow most of the sea creature to be eaten as long they are not poisonous. Hanafi madhab are quite strict, even stingray and some of seafood are consider as haram or makruh It is fun to know it, and before anything, all 4 main madhab in Sunni Islam ALWAYS follows Quran and Hadith, even in terms of something that not appear in prophet times and exist after it, Scholars (Ulama) will discuss it to make sure it parallel or not violated Quran and Hadith

There are also Chams in Malaysia states of Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu in Malaysia's Eastern side of the Peninsular. They came here in few waves, firstly during the downfall of the Cham states to the Viet during 15th to16th century and secondly in 20th century during Vietnam War and Pol Pot aggressions in Cambodia. The first wave of Cham already mixed with the local Malays, but the second wave in the 20th century still retain the language and culture of Cham.

Very insightful video and a look into one of the minority subcultures I frankly didn't know existed. The curry looked amazing and reminded me of southern Thailand or Malaysian cuisine (as you mentioned). Great job, Sonny.

Thanks for covering this. Always wanted to visit such countries but the food options are hard to imagine and figure out. Research is just not my forte. Sincerely thanks for this coverage! Looking forward to the next episode!

Thank you for sharing content on my culture. There are Cham people in Phan Rang and Chau Dac Vietnam and in provinces in Cambodia and even in the US and their food and dialect are all very different. Would love to see you try all the different types of Cham food 🤤
