The place will be on a 12 ft. wide lawn with synthetic grass installed. It is best to have a level ground to make sure that the pool will be stable and that the water will be level on all corner. My lawn however have a slight slope for water runoff so the pool have a 2" difference from end to end. This does not affect the stability of the pool but you can notice the difference in water level from one end to the other end simply by looking at the pattern.
The pump the came with it is rated 530GPH and is adequate enough to maintain the water. You have to run the pump for at least 8 hours daily to properly clean the water and change the filter every 4 to 5 days depending on use.
Note that the measurement given is the total dimension of the widest part of the pool not the actual pool frame. If you measure the top frame, it is 14 ft x 7.5 ft. The vinyl have a little bulge to the side so I believe, that the 8.2 ft is the widest part of the vinyl when filled with water. Also, the 39.5 ft is the measurement of the frame from floor to the top of the frame but the water level will be 5 to 6 inches lower from the top of the frame so that only gives you about 33 inches of water height.
Overall, this pool is very nice and perfect for 3 person. It will be a little crowded for 5 person but is still enjoyable.

Thanks.

Great video! Thank you for explanation. I have 2 questions. What do you have under your artificial turf? and i see you dont use protection cover between pool and turf. Do you thin this protection is not necessary? thanks
@diymanual
@diymanual 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. The turf serves as my protection between the dirt and the pool. It actually serves as a cushion as well so it does not hurt your feet when you jump to the pool. Just make sure that you clean up the area and that there is no sharp object or rocks that can puncture the liner. The liner is used when you put it directly above dirt as it may have rocks, roots etc. in it that can puncture your liner some even use foam board to make the floor perfectly even and soft. The turf is actually a perfect protection because it is even and soft. Plus it has good drainage when it is installed properly.

It might bend and break. I would suggest drain it till you can pull the legs out. Water is cheap. It only cost about $30 to fill it. The reason the side support is like that is because the side wall will expand outward a little.

You could but it might affect the amount of water it can filter per hour. Try adjusting the hose and clamp. If it's still leaking you can use this tape. amzn.to/3OBfJUL I used this for hose and pipe leaks in cars and around the house and on the T-connector on this pool as well.

How do you clean the inlet valves? I noticed hair accumulating where the valves suck in water.
@diymanual
@diymanual 2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the plastic gray screen that covers the inlet valves? The screen itself should stop the hair from getting sucked into the inlet so just grab the hair and toss it out. I don't experience any problem with hair accumulating in the valves but of course my boys and I have short hair and my daughter and wife always tie their hair when they jump in the pool. The plastic gray screen have 2 screw that holds it in place. I am not sure why Bestway did that because it also have a thread that will hold it in place. I removed the screws on mine and never put it back. Maybe you can do that so you can easily open the screen to clean any hair that accumulated in it. Let me know if it works.

What is the full dimensions of the pool supports the pool itself advertise 14 by 8’ 2” will it fit on a 10 foot wide concrete pad? Support, legs and all. The surface I am planning on putting this size pool is exactly 10 feet wide by 14 feet long
@diymanual
@diymanual Жыл бұрын
The answer to that question is 14 x 9 1/2. I covered the pool measurement in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aNF4ld2Xr8fPZnU.html My grass area is exactly 12 ft. wide and you can see the space I have to the front. The foot in the back is around 6 to 8 inches away from the wall. With a 10 ft. pad you need to make sure you are centered properly before you add the water and I suggest that you check the center from the center of the curb side because you need to make adjustment to the side support as you fill it up with water. Hope this helps.

There are 3 holes total that connects to the pump. 2 labeled 'B' that is joined by a T-joint then go to the pump intake that is labeled 'B' as well then 1 labeled 'A' that connects to pump output which is also labeled 'A' . Are you talking about the hole with cap that is not labeled that is close to the bottom? If so that is the drain valve that you can use to drain the pool at the end of the poos season. What is the brand of the water pump that you are using??? I need to change mine to one stronger
@diymanual
@diymanual Жыл бұрын
I just use the one that came with the pool. A lot of people complain that the pump is too weak but in my experience, once you learn how to balance the water that the pump that came with it will do its job. I have used the same 530gph pump for 3 years and the only time I have problem with water clarity is when it rains and when I forget to add chlorine. Once your water is balance, all you need to do is make sure that you have proper amount of chlorine. Check my other pool maintenance video on water balance. kzfaq.info/sun/PL_2zbWlUD8pnBmQEwh16YFeY-h2NW2s4G But of course, having a stronger pump will help keep the water cleaner a lot easier especially when you have a lot of people using the pool. We have 4 to 5 people using the pool every night for at least 90 to 120 minutes and the included pump is fine. The included pump will need to run at least 8 to 12 hours to do 2 complete turnover if you get a 2000 gph pump you can do 2 complete turnover in 2 hours for this pool so if you run it for 8 hours, that will be 8 turnover. Can the pool be winterized for Wisconsin winters?
@diymanual
@diymanual 2 жыл бұрын
Others have done that on bigger vinyl pool but I do not see the point of winterizing it because this is a small pool with only 2,000 gallon of water. It will cost you more to get it ready for next season with chemical you will be using than just putting in new water which in my area only cost a little less than $30.

How does the weight of the pool impact your turf? I’m considering getting a pool, but I’m concerned it will ruin my turf!
@diymanual
@diymanual 3 жыл бұрын
Did not have any issue with the turf. The turf will of course flatten out but it goes back up after brushing. I could say turf is the best place to put the pool because turf will also serve as a nice cushion for your feet. Just make sure to place a support board on the footings to spread the weight.

@@diymanual Thank you for that reply.. I am having turf installed and want to have the ability to do a "seasonal" above ground pool, since I live in Oregon. It is good to know that this is an option during the summer. Did you see any discoloration from water with chlorine getting on your turf?
@diymanual
@diymanual 3 жыл бұрын
I do not see any discoloration in the turf. There are some white spots with powder texture around the side of the board I placed for footing I believe accumulated powdered chemical I put in the pool? Anyway, I was able to rinse it off with a garden hose. The turf was just like how it was before I installed the pool after I rinse and brush. If you are having your turf installed make sure that the contractor will compact the base properly. I installed my own turf and I made sure it is compacted well because I already have plan on installing an above ground pool during summer.

@@diymanualWhat if I left the pool up all season? My turf installer said he was concerned thay leaving a pool up for so long would cause an indentation in the turf where the pool used to be if I ever decided to get rid of it. Also, there's a lot of high and low spots in my turf, how would I be able to make it level?
@diymanual
@diymanual Жыл бұрын
@@Superman-xr1oh I do not keep the pool up all season but I don't think it would be an issue. Just make sure to put some board under the footing to distribute the weight. I'm surprised that your turf installer would doubt their own work. If they did not cut corners, your base should be compacted properly and should be hard. I installed my own grass and consulted with the manufacturer "Synlawn" and I was assured that the grass will not fade and that it will be able to handle the weight of the pool as long as I build the base properly. Some installer will use Class II roadbase or decomposed granite or a combination of both. I decided to just use class II road base on mine and compacted it with a vibrating plate that I rented from home depot. When you say you have high and low spots, is that there when they installed it or did it just show months after the grass is installed? If it is there since the beginning it should be fine. I have some imperfection in my grass install but it never cause an issue with the pool I'm not sure how bad is the high/low spots that you are talking about but to level them, you will need to lift the grass and add more base material. If it is just on a section, you can cut a square section to lift the grass, add base material and put the grass back in. Note that your grass will have filler and nails about 6 - 8 inches long. I hope I answer your question.

Hi Sunshine, it is an inline filter so I just installed it in between the faucet and garden hose to filter the water before it goes into the pool (Faucet-->Filter-->Garden Hose-->to pool). You do not need it if your water is clear. I have to use it on mine because the water does not come out clear without the filter due to excessive iron.

I used the tarp and velcro method because there is no actual cover for this pool and there was no solar heater option at the time I purchased this.

How tall is your daughter. Im trying to get a size comparison
@diymanual
@diymanual 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Amanda, I actually purchase this size so my youngest son can stand and be confident in the water. The average water level on this is between 33 to 35 inches but you can probably go as low as 30 inches without the sides bowing too much. What you can do is let your kid stand by your sink counter to see how your kids height is compared to the sink as the average height of a sink is between 29 - 36 inches. My youngest learned to swim on this in just a couple of weeks. The water level at that time was up to his shoulder but kids grow so fast that on year 2 it is already below his chest. I will probably use this one more year then upgrade to a 52 inches. Anyway, his 2 older siblings (14 and 12) is still having fun in this pool even though it is only to their waist level. They can kneel down to keep themselves warm and still have their head above water. If your kid is a little taller, I would suggest to begin with a 42" so that you can also do your swimming exercise without touching the floor. Keep in mind that the height they give in the pool specification is the top of the pool but the average water level will be at least 5 - 6 inches lower than that height. You can probably set the water a little lower depending on the model you chose but remember, the lower the water level the more the side will bow especially on a longer pool. Hope this help.

If its an 8ft. wide pool you are telling people once the U holders are in the flaps extended out its 9 1/2 feet total. Once the flaps are extended out in the u hooks adding a foot to each side wouldnt the grand total of the width of the pool be 10 ft? You have to add a foot to each side once you extend them.
@diymanual

The frame width is actually 7 1/2. The way bestway and Intex measure the pool is based on the widest or longest part of the pool body which is where the bulge is or towards the bottom of the pool or if you look at the picture, where the support belt is.
