The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past helped form the Zelda series into what we know and love today. The addition of breakable walls and new attacks have been kept in the series for over 20 years thanks to this game. But A Link to the Past wasn't meant to be for the SNES at first. Instead, the game was actually planned to be the third Zelda title for the NES.

It's interesting that almost every single zelda mechanic started with Link to The Past. That's a solid pedigree.

That's so cool that we got one of the most iconic Zelda moves, the spin attack, just because of development limitations. Frankly, I'm glad; the spin attack is way cooler than a diagonal slice.

i really hate it when people call a link between worlds the sequel to a link to the past completely forgetting that links awakening is a direct sequel to a link to the past

Breakable walls were in the original zelda.

I would wager that the 4 unused "villager" sprite sets are the now un-brainwashed soldiers in civilian garb.

what i really like about this game when i was a kid was a ll the mystery, it was cool every time u played it you found a secret some thing new and its not like you could use the internet to find anything
