Finding a beginner radio is a pretty difficult and time consuming process. There are many things to consider such as size/shape, protocol type, simulator compatibility, and most importantly affordability. But what if there was a radio that solved all those problems? Hello again Ive watched your videos about the light radio 3 several times. I commented after I saw the first one and you responded so you are paying attention but are you making new videos. I hope so you do a good job and I need the tutoring if I’m too learn to fly I didn’t mention the first time that I’m starting a little late in life I’m 64 years old. Thanks.. Yeh, maybe if all these configurators could be used online, then phones could work. With Bluetooth modules becoming more popular, it's only a matter of time.

Okay I have found through betafpv support ( That’s a job) I ordered the wrong module 915 MHz so it doesn’t work with a cetus x ELRS drone. I’ll be back when I get the right module delivered. I’m not good with technical issues but I’m a patient man. You learn that with age lol keep up the good work dude

@@ReelVirtuoso I ordered the Nano TX V2 ELRS 915 MHz first and found out from Betafpv support that it would not work on the ELS Cetus X drone and that I needed the 2.4GHz module and he said I would need to down grade my light radio 3 to 1.1.1 on a configurator. I have never touched a computer before. But I started playing with my daughters old very old Dell about a week ago and got it downloaded and installed, but it still doesn’t work so I came back here looking for answers I hope this answers your question about the module

Thanks...ELRS is the way to go. Much better range, penatration, and refresh rates. There's also more support from the community and products from manufacturers.

Great review! I had the 2se but thought this might be better. And appears that is true. I have a noob question. How do you get the DJI goggles to work with the BetaFPV radio?

The goggles and radio are two separate entities. They individually communicate with the drone. As long as your radio is compatible with your receiver, your drone will connect and fly. As long as your goggles is compatible with your VTX, you'll have an image in your goggles.

I'm just getting into FPV and bought Tiny Hawk II Freesstyle about a year ago (that I need more skill with) along with a very complicated Taranis X7. Decided to go for the DJI FPV about 3 months ago but haven't unlocked the full FPV modes. Last month I bought a BetaFPV Cetus Pro and this Lite Radio 3. I'm sure I'll get it all sorted eventually. I think I have all the goodies I need to fly. Have to spend more time with it all. By the way, you have another subscriber! I appreciate the amount of detail and find it easy to listen to you.

What do you do when the Mobula 6 came in new? What is the first steps? Do I really need to connect it to a computer for anything? And is D8 a frisky or flysky protocol? Thank you for your helpful videos.

Yes, that's exactly correct.. that's the main reason I got the Frsky version. I already owned the ELRS module which also has more power than buying the ELRS only radio. It can also run CRSF if you intent to fly that protocol with an external module.

Man, I am very desperate for help. I have two 2S quads that keep saying bad rx and dropping out of the sky, but my meteor 65 pro and 75 pro fly Great with both radios I flew them with. I even found them to the brand new one as well. Flew great. Distance was also pretty good. Even after I bound a brand new lite radio 3 FRSKY edition, same thing. Fail safe/ rx loss at very close range. I’ve tried everything. Any ideas? I think it’s probably just the way that I am interacting with the Drone and I’m obviously not setting something up right in betaflight.

No, you would not be able to fly Frsky drones then. The ELRS version is just that. That's the reason I went with the Frsky version, and added the ELRS module on the back. I can have the best of both worlds.

@@OneManUnmanned So I have decided that for my birthday I will probably end up getting the ELRS edition of the controllers and a pair or vr02 goggles that will suffice for now. Because I am on a tight budget and I want to restart with the betafpv meteor 65 pro ELRS and Just kinda get my bearings and then when I am able to, I want to switch the goggles for ones that have dvr. I looked at the price after shipping and the Betafpv Literadio 3 ELRS controller and pair of Betafpv VR02 goggles will cost right at $152, and yes your eyes aren't tricking you. Inflation is something, but anyway My Idea is to get all 3 and make a carrying case for them all or just stick them in a backpack, take it to a park or a gym, or wherehouse and just enjoy the flight. I mainly plan to fly indoors but the option for range is really nice. 😃

Will this remote work with flywoo cinerace20? I purchased dji goggles & need a remote to go with setup. I'm a bit inexperienced any advice will be greatly appreciated

It really depends on what receiver is in your drone. Once I know that, I can give a more definitive answer. Typically a radio will work on a receiver with similar protocol(FrSky,CRSF,ELRS).

They don't mention it because it's fully customizable. You can choose to make them do anything you want in BetaFlight. They don't have a set dedicated function. They can be used and assigned to anything like Arm/Disarm, Flight Modes, Beeper, Crash Flip.

So... I am in the EU and flashed with that respective domain, and it doesn't work. So I reflashed with the US and it works. I guess it is because of the LUA script already integrated on the controller? Now how one goes about updating that in this radio?

@@OneManUnmanned oh alright. Thanks alot 👌🏼 I've heard some other reviews the literadio 3 isn't suitable for pro's or long range but with the module up to 500mw, I don't see whats the issue why they say its only meant for beginners.... Or am I missing something?

Yeh, I don't know either.. The difference between what's pro or not is very subjective. Alot of pro users might want a screen on the radio or maybe Open TX...I don't know. I don't 100% believe in that sentiment, because there is a push to go away from Open TX to Edge TX. For me, as long as the product functions the same, I'll be satisfied. I'll be doing more test on the radio and the range. Good luck with your decision. 👍

@@OneManUnmanned I have the X9D Plus and Jumper T18 Pro V2 but for flying quads they are over kill. I just ordered the Lite radio 3 ExpressLRS version to simplify my life: I have DJI drones, the Mavic 2 unpacking, setup, pre-flight, tear down and pack up takes forever. With my Mavic Mini 2 I step out of the car, throw the drone in the air and fly, when I'm done I grab the drone from hover and get into the car. I've been watching KZfaq videos and it seems like the higher tech gear takes more time to keep updated with the latest releases in order to keep up with all the features or to fix issues. Keep up the examples of flying, that is what this is all about, Thanks

Yeh, I would suggest against the i6. There are way too many other options on the market that are future proof. I would suggest the RadioMaster Zorro, or Jumper-T Lite if you're tight on money. If you REALLY like the LiteRadio3, or on a strict budget, the LiteRadio3 is not bad.

Hi. I want begin with FPV, think i buy a kit (cetus fpv pro), the radio transmitter(LiteRadio 2 SE) works with FRSky, but i maybe can i buy separatedly radio transmitter LiteRadio 3 (frs-sky con support for crossfire), Google Eachines EV800DM and any other Dron, what the recomendations,,, the kit con FRSky o separatedly to have FrSky + Crossfire. El Cetus Pro es un buen dron para empezar a volar FPV. Otros buenos drones son TinyHawkIII, Mobula6 y GEPRC Smart16. El LiteRadio3 es bueno por el precio. Asegúrate de comprar la versión FrSky si quieres volar drones D8, D16 o XM+. Si puede permitirse una radio más cara, le recomendaría la Radio Master Zorro. Gracias por tu pregunta.

@@OneManUnmanned Hi Again, thanks for your help, i tryed buy the kit but problems with the buy, so, Radio Master Zorro i like, but confuse the versions available on bangood, CC2500, 4in1 TBS Crossfire, CC2500 Crosfire, wich version is the best for fly commons quads??, think first buy one quad but later maybe want another. Take so much by your comments.

If you want to fly the small drones like the CetusPro or TinyHawk III, the JP4IN1 or the CC2500 is the version you will need. The JP4IN1 is preferred. CRSF or ELRS can be added later if you need it in the future.

I bought this radio and I am not happy with it at all. I found it impossible to upgrade it from V1 to V2 to match my BetaFPV F4 1S 5A AIO ELRS flight controller. I went through everything I could think of and so far nothing has worked. I haven't given up yet but I am not happy at the present time.

I don't have the ELRS version of the LiteRadio3, but I have flashed it (Frsky version) once or twice. First thing to do is download the new firmware from the BetaFPV website (I'll link it here as well), and save it (local) somewhere on your computer. If you have the internal ELRS module, your firmware is SX1280_2.0.0. Next is to setup your radio to be flashed. The radio needs to be off...Press the "Setup" button while pressing the Power button. The LED should be blue. Release both buttons. Next, plug your radio to the computer. Open the BetaFPV Configurator application. Click Firmware flasher on the left, then click connect. At the botton right of the app, click "Load Firmware [Local]" and choose the firmware that you saved earlier(from the BetaFPV website). The app will load and install the new firmware to the LiteRadio3(you can see the progress bar while it's happening). That should be it. Hopes this helps. Good review but radio has issues for newbies. There is no way to change the rates except through the configurator and there are no trims to use to fine tune your quadcopters performance.

I agree that mostly everything has to be done in the configurator, but these issue that you mentioned are not beginner issues. Rates are normally changed in BetaFlight or the firmware of chouce in your FC. As far a trims..multi-rotor quads don't use trims. The FC and accelerometers takes care of those. If your drone has drift, it can be easily calibrated in BetaFlight with one button. Most pilots don't even touch the trim buttons on their radio(except fixed-wing pilots). I guess the point I'm trying to make is that, these are not beginner issues(and you might be past the beginner stage as a pilot).
