My father would watch on PBS on most evenings. I would eventually learn to enjoy them with him. Although it would air on PBS (WLIW/21) here on Long Island, each episode would end with the tag “Lionheart Television - The BBC in America.” He enjoyed this series; and also ‘Allo! Allo!’ I couldn’t watch that with him; the opening and closing music always made me cry…

Annette Evans I read an article about how for the early seasons she actually dyed her real hair those different colours for each episode. Still working for the UN , but for the WAP this time (That's world animal protection) on animalitarian missions , while running a clinic with my partner and a few animal shelters . "Young" Mr. Grace would be 123 years old, were he alive today. He was 79 when he made this episode (1978). He was born when Queen Victoria was still alive. All of the actors are now playing to a higher, more ethereal audience.

@CLAUDIA CHASMAN - thank you . real toys, dolls, even simple building blocks, etc, kids put in their hands and play with stimulates their imaginations and creativity . whereas , virtual reality leads to atrophy of those abilities . children don't go outdoors enough either . exercise yes ! but also looking at cloud formations, making and flying paper airplanes, building tiny miniature houses out of twigs, grass, leaves and stones, etcetera , uses more brain power than any video game . I remember as a child I and a friend would go out on the sidewalk after a rainstorm . We would gather pebbles, dirt, whatever and reroute the flow of the water flowing . I didn't become a civil engineer but it did stimulate my imagination and was lots of fun .

And I remember many a time as a child, we didn't even need real toys to have fun and stimulate our minds. we'd build tiny little houses and "people" out of twigs, stones, grass in the yard ( In Britain i think all of the outdoor property of a house owner or shared by people who lived in flats, which includes flower, vegetable gardens, lawns and trees , all of it is called garden instead of yard or backyard ) . indoors we made gliding airplanes out of scrap paper, played charades, tic tac toe and all sorts of similar games with just pencil and paper. we children would get together and share all out crayons to draw things and even do abstract crayon painting . we'd find some chalk and play hopscotch on the sidewalk, play leapfrog, all sorts of games and creative things with anything we could find. we had to be resourceful because none of us had much money except what little in our piggy banks. To our elders and parents consternation yes we did climb trees too . i was a chubby kid so i didn't get up very high in the trees, lol . Nobody had portable stereos or mp3 players . We had to remember the songs on someone's indoors home radio in our heads . We'd watch tv too much and moms and dads would gently force us to go outside or do something inside besides watch tv . when we became young teens, very few of us had many 45rpm or lp records and audio cassette recorder/players weren't available at low cost . us boys and girls would put our coines together. we'd go to this diner and, put our coins in, chose and play some songs on the jukebox . some of us were better at remember music and others the lyrics . We used the hard drives, memory and players in our heads to remember and hum, sing, whistle & dance to music without any instruments or radio or record player playing

I never tire of Mollie Sugden. Still watch "That's My Boy!" on VHS. I also enjoy seeing Paul Inman in "Take a letter, Mr. Jones," also on VHS. It is interesting to study how the actor you love from one character shows up as someone else. Their personal little quirks and mannerisms make regular appearances and you'd know them anywhere!!
