Hi Beth: I have only just discovered your designs and your podcast, and I commend you on the decision to include a schematic with your pattern page photos. That really is helpful in deciding whether a pattern is suitable. I love freesias but had no idea they grow in the grass like that.

I enjoy your new set-up with all the beautiful sweaters behind you. I am so envious! At the moment I am working on my basic beginner garter stitch cardigan. But it’s knit using super bulky yarn and US11 needles, which means I can only do about ten rows max per day. Otherwise, my hands are in pain. But I am bullheaded and will continue on even if it ends up not fitting me. There are no short row stitches, ribbing, or buttons. Just seam the pieces together. Maybe one day soon I will be able to knit one of your patterns. Oh! My grandparents here in CA had loquat trees in their backyard and I have fond memories of eating the fruit. StitchedbyMimi

Thanks so much Beth! The Tamarind is a beautiful design in both of the color combos you chose. I also love the fabric made by pairing Holst Supersoft with mohair or alpaca - so light and airy. I made a Soldatna in that combo and it's perfect. I'm really interested in your Bermy 14 using Big Birdie as I have a SQ in Miel which I've had waiting for a good pattern match. So freesia grow in the grass - who knew?! Beautiful video coverage.

I so enjoy your podcasts. Lots on my needles but loving the diamond ( traveling stitches) stitches sweater. Gonna follow this progress. I as well enjoy the berma -basic. The 18 gauge I have seen you in ( think the 18 or is it the 24).? The one with the multi color yarn is lovely. Also the NY trip you discussed was interesting. I have to go to NY once every 2-3 years to visit husbands family and I so dislike the City it is just too much for me. It was nice to see/ view through your eyes in a fond way…. Guess I need to adopt a new lense. Thank you for today.

I enjoy seeing the sweaters behind you, Hopefully, someone will have an idea on how to save your shoulders. You might find it helpful to put a towel on your table. It will prevent the noise of your jewelry and/or needles hitting the table. I thought of you the other day when someone was knitting a sweater from an e-book which had multiple versions of the same sweater. Hopefully, something like that might work for Bermie Basic. It had multiple necklines and gauges. I haven’t thought of combining an alpaca with an economical yarn. I’m not a huge fan of mohair but like a little fuzz. Thanks for all the work you’re putting into these podcasts. Deborah from Florida

The hat because I needed mindless knitting while visiting. Totally different than you. I love that. For you, I think that cabled sweater would be great travel knitting.

Hi Beth! Lovely to join you here - and wonderful to see the upcoming sweater ideas!! I love the Spanish Moss Tunic with that incorporated scarf... I have a fab collection of silk scarves, from my teen days of working in retail part-time and usually in the ladies accessories section of department stores... LOTS of beautiful Liberty scarves that I of course got at employee discount prices... that would be an amazing way of incorporating my collection, as opposed to wearing it just loosely on top of the sweater... would love to be in the test realm for that one!! ... and such fun for you to be looking forward to your upcoming Germany trip!! Until next time, Cheers, Judith 💜

Oooh Judith! What a fun job as a teen working in the accessories department! How fun! And yes, Liberty scarves are the best. Beautiful prints, fine cotton or silk blends, absolutely gorgeous. They used to sell the Liberty scarves here in Bermuda at our old Dept Stores and I have some from then and keep an eye out at the resale shops. Great fun to collect! Remind me about test knitting this one when the time comes around and of course! I'd love you to! Thanks for watching!

What would your suggestion for me be as far as a new project. Moving from scarves and a baby blanket to something a Little more challenging? I’m returning to knitting after about 35 years, and anything too complicated scares me! Maybe a sweater with set in sleeves or raglan? I’m a nervous knitter. When I drop a stitch I break out into a sweat but always manage to pick the stitches back up. Thanks!

The sweaters hanging behind you are beautiful! I didn’t think sweaters should be hung because they stretch out in length and get funny shoulders. What’s your secret to be able to do that?
@bethmacdonaldstone

Its true - that definitely happens. I thought by using the suit hangers I could get away with it for a few of the tighter knits. Not so, going to have to rethink that all but I must say its so pleasing and inspiring to look at. Far more then when they are folded on a shelf. Urgh!!! ❤
