Agree. Think he's beyond hopeless. All threats about sending people out when the MPs are noisy but a few minutes later he's telling them to be quiet again. I even have a bing card now for counting his empty threats, number of times he allows PM to deflect, self promote, play to the gallery. When we needed a good strong speaker we had him. Dreadful Speaker. Beth is great as usual.

Without accountability, there is zero law and order. One can just do as one pleases. MPs and the PM are CIVIL SERVANTS, not CEOs or tech giant entrepreneurs. Tax payers pay parliament wages, do the very least and address our concerns. In addition, stay away from committing crimes against humanity and human rights abuses under the blanket of ignorance. Pretending to not know of a problem does not make said problem vanish into thin air. It does nothing but nurture more cover up crimes.

Huge respect for Beth. Without question the best political journalist we have at this time. Ruthlessly effective, but with absolute civility and grace. Sky is very lucky to have her. The speaker still lets the Tories get away with too much, but his heart is in the right place.

Clearly a very nice chap. In many ways too nice because there are many situations arising in the Commons where a firm approach is required from the Speaker yet this does not happen.

His heart may well be "in the right place" and his avuncular mill-belt accent belies his inability to get the Tory front benches to answer the question. Time and time again he fails here. Hats off to Beth Rigby as an interviewer. A model of how it should be done.

I worked for Lindsay in 1994 when he ran Screen Arts in Chorley, Lancs. It doesn't come across at all now he's Speaker of the House of Commons, but he has a very big personality and really likes a laugh and a joke.

his office responded to me explaining Mr Speaker did not have the powers to ask/make/force/verify members (inc PM) to answer correctly and fully and truthfully. So all these dodged questions, answers to questions not even asked, diversions and deflections, he can do nothing about . ,.

If MPs really want to do something for UK then they must work for 1$ symbolic salary but Whole system is broken ministers wasting taxpayer money traveling by helicopter , stop paying MPs life time pension, British taxpayer money use it for poor British public. We are British suffering paying gas bill. Cancel brexit to stop inflation, join EU again. We are strong together in side EU. Still remember Mr. David Cameron words we are better inside EU. cancel Brexit.

I am sure he is sincere, but his overall attitude is not suited to the zoo that the commons has become. He sounds better suited to an age which simply no longer exists. Ultimately useless in bringing any semblance of MP accountability to the voters of the UK.

He's known for being as nuchal use as a chocolate teapot in Parliament. Hoyle let Johnson and his chimps tea party behind him make an absolute mockery of PMQs every week. Let Johnson trot out his insults every week and did nothing. Weak,should stand aside and let someone else do the job. The clips shown are the only few times he actually did what he's paid for.
