Ok. I'm a big, tough man. I don't ever, ever cry at movies... Ok, I cried at this one. Twice. It makes you cry, you recover, it hits you again. And Bette Midler is one of the coolest ladies, best singers ever for sure. Thanks for posting this. Now I'm gonna lift some weights, work on my car and not cry. Forget I told you this.

When I was a little boy, I used to sing this song with my Aunt Sade whenever it was on the radio-which was often, as "Guess Who's Comming to Dinner" had just come out, and it's part of that film's soundtrack. That was in early 1968. My dear Aunt passed away five years ago and I still can't listen to this without the tears flowing. Miss you, Aunt Sade and love you always.

One sleepless night, after getting to see my little brother for the first time in 2 years, this song popped in my head. My mom passed away 9 years ago this month. One of the greatest gifts she could have ever given me is a little brother so I would "never have to be alone" she would say. This movie was always one of her favorites and I find it funny how this song fit how she felt for my brother and I and how I feel for my little brother and I now that we are both older and he is out in the world

I personnally tribute this song to my late granny. So much so its the only song I listened to driving all the way back to my hometown for her funeral and all the way back to where I lived outta town. It was a 16hr round trip just to put emphasis on my fondness of my granny and this song that makes memories of her unforgettable.

I'm a Man, and I really cried through to move "Beaches", especially after Hilary Whitney(Barbara Hershey) died. Wind Beneath My Wings will always be My Favorite Song from Bette Midler, and I always cry when hearing that song because they play it in the movie after Hilary's death. It's never easy when you lose A Lifelong Friend.

I was in grade school when I saw this movie on HBO. It made me cry so much then and even now that I'm almost 22 years old, I still cry like the lil' girl that I was when I first saw this movie and probably even harder ever since my mom died three years ago. Sure there are lots of singers who can sing a lot better than her but it's just the way that she sings... She sings with a heart and you can feel it, especially in this movie.

The thing about Bette Midler is you never really know which one you're going to get. The one that can dish the dirt and tell such bawdey stories that would make a seasoned truck-driver blush. But then there's also the Bette that shows incredible warmth, sensitivity and even some vulnerability. I guess that's why she's adored by so many people. A great singer and one hell of a fine though under-rated actress. I hope she knows she's brought a lot of happiness to this world.

it's about two little girls who meet on a beach, become long distance friends who talk through mail, grow up and visit each other after years of not seeing each other, and basically go through jealousy and hard ships of each other's lives. greatest chick flick ever. i won't spoil the ending, but i definitely recommend it! bring tissues lol
