She was perfect playing a child version of Bette. Really perfect. Perfectly cast.

Having just seen "Beaches" for the umpteenth time, I believe from every aspect, Mayim's performance is the best "child" performance ever on the big screen. Nuanced and simply wonderful. A gem that never gets stale.

To this day I am mystified as to why she was not nominated for an Oscar. She was brilliant, especially with the challenge of capturing what a little Bette would be like.

The first time I saw Beaches was before I had even heard of Mayim, and I was amazed at what a plausible young Bette Midler she was able to portray. "In my opinionation", Mayim stole the show and was the best part of the whole movie. She is a show business rarity - a truly intelligent, articulate actor.

I like how she takes you through the steps of the movie and looking fondly on it. She looks happy to discuss it and doesn’t look like she’s being forced to do it.

I haven't seen Beaches for years, but I remember thinking how amazing the casting of Mayim was! She was so perfect for the role

When "Beaches" first came out, it was like they made a movie from mine and my best friends lives. We met very young (almost 40 years ago), and we had complete opposite personalities. Our story is way too long to type out. She ended up moving 1500 miles away. But, we are still the best of friends. Every time we visit each other, we grab our popcorn, and we sit down and watch "Beaches." We've even watched it over the phone a few times when it was playing on TV. We laugh, we cry, and we start comparing every scene to our friendship and just crack up. This movie will always mean more to the both of us than anything else we've ever held onto for almost 40 years. 💛💛

Mayim has a natural beauty about her that no one ever talks about. She has a real "character" face, but there is a beauty to it as well. She has wonderful coloring.

I remember when the series "Blossom" started saying "hey! Thats the girl from Beaches". And then when Mayim started on "The Big Bang Theory", I was like oh my gosh, I love her! I tried to explain to my kids, they were like, "who?". But Beaches is one of my favorite movies, & Ive enjoyed watching your career, Ms Bialik.

I saw Beaches in the theater when it came out. Mayim Bialik was an absolute stand-out, and her character was the most interesting and fun to watch in the entire movie.

One thing about Mayim is that she really is so gracious and appreciative of her acting roots. I love seeing that as much as I’ve loved following her career.

So nice to hear that it wasn’t a horrible experience for her. So many times, you’d love love, love a movie, and then you hear all this terrible stuff and it ruins it for you.

I LOVED this interview.....but then, I Love Mayim!! Glad to hear she had parents who took such great care with her as a newly famous child-star. I believe THAT made all the difference in how she turned out...kind, level-headed,extremely intelligent and self-assure. ❤️ ☮️ 🌸
