I live in eastern Oregon and agree to that. It's been kinda nice, hope we have enough water to fill the reservoirs however.

We haven’t had a freeze here in south Texas yet. All the weather people were saying it was going to be a really cold winter for us here with a lot of rain because of El Niño. Well we’ve had some rain but not really any cold weather. A lot of the trees still have leaves. I’ve never in all my years seen a winter this mild. I hope this isn’t a sign of another super hot summer where we’ve gotten four months of at least 100 degree weather everyday. I remember when I was a kid many times we’d get a freeze by Halloween.

How long do you cut the rounds before splitting?

My stove comfortably holds logs 18 inches long. We try to cut everything under 18 inches. I know the question was for him, just wanted to share. ❤

I can split up to 22.5 inches and my stoves will take it but I like 16" logs

@@herelieskittythomas3726 I figured it was a matter of how big the stove was. We have an old Montgomery Ward 1909 pot bellied stove that hasn’t been installed yet. I’ll have to go see what it can handle before I have my husband cut up all these downed trees on our property.

From this West Virginia hillbilly, it's been a mild and muddy winter in the hills here, it gets to freezing here at night, get the wood burner going good and hot, but I just let it die out while I am at work then by about 7 I get it kicked back up good and warm. Have a feeling we about due for a good snow storm here for to long

Good morning HB and Ms Kitty! It's a wonderful day today. I didn't realize how big your puppy is until he stood up to say high to you. He's big. I am planning and hoping to have a really small wood burning stove in cottage by next winter. As you say HB if the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise - I may just get one set up!! :-) Ms Kitty getting some more wood for the house. You could use that neat wood hauler when picking garden too. :-) Y'all stay warm!

BTW , IHB . I did get those boots you reviewed , and have worn them a few times in puddles and mud . They are fine for the purpose , except I will need arch support inserts :D Stay warm ...

If you always split your wood at 2' move the block forward or add a 4" block to the splitter push block. Saves time and electric.

You sure made short work of that wood pile... Nice system you have... It's still allot of work. I only use Wood to supplement Gas , but have enough put up just in case... A guy in our area was selling wood.. Oak, Maple and Ash... Cut, Split and Delivered... $180.00 a cord! and my neighbor was complaining... Told him to count his blessings at that price... I bought one of them electric scooters it claims 15 miles a charge but in reality its about half that. Really interested in this Ebike you said was rated at 40 miles and you're very lucky to get one relatively free. Close to 400 dollars for this scooter but it is what it is. Lower to the ground I've fallen off bikes on ice up here in the Bitterroot but summer is coming so looking forward to the promo video.

Your dog looks and acts !like my buster that passed in 2009 ,I've lived in our mobile home for 40 years,we are being forced to move due to airport buying out,losing our home ,and not getting any compensation for it,anyhow my dogs are buried here ,and its breaking my heart to leave them behind this is so horrible
