Күн бұрын

Novelist Ayelet Waldman despaired managing her mood disorder-and her husband and children were suffering too. Then she tried something new: 10 micrograms of LSD. For a month, she joined the ranks of an underground but increasingly vocal group using therapeutic microdoses of LSD. In A Really Good Day: How Microdosing Made a Mega Difference in My Mood, My Marriage, and My Life, Waldman draws on her experience as a federal public defender to tell a story that ranges from the war on drugs to harm reduction to psychedelics research. CHF Associate Artistic Director Alison Cuddy will join Waldman in conversation.

Too bad well adjusted adults can go buy gallons of alcohol but can’t be trusted with some mushrooms. It is time for change.

So very true! This needs to change. During the early pandemic days and right before the big holidays, I started noticing people in liquor stores with shopping carts FULL. You can literally buy enough to fill a freight train, all in one day if you could logistically pull that off, with no legal consequences but the little old mushrooms that never hurt anyone and are truly saving lives are schedule 1.

I dont get some of the negative comments. As a mental health professional, i’ve witnessed years of suffering by people who have not been served by our mental health system or the drug companies that profit heavily by suppressing symptoms just barely and never curing any while often causing very serious long term side effects such as diabetes and obesity. I will definitely read her book. She presents as grounded in integrity in addition to being a gifted speaker with valuable ground breaking information to impart. Thank you for this ray of hope.

Exploring Florida Trails agreed. Psychedelics are incredibly valuable tools for healing trauma and enhancing empathy but it takes exposure hardcore painful objective TRUTH to snap out of the kind of “false noble” mind control that has its grip around our society. I loved Obama too...until I saw who he actually was. A very eloquent wolf in sheep’s clothing. A savage with very good table manners. I surely hope we have as powerful a social/political awakening as we are a psychedelic awakening. Peace to all.

GammaSouljah the real downfall of our world happened when the federal reserve was signed into action in 1913, our birth certificates are reciepts of purchase of our ownership to the private bankers of the world. We are slaves to debt, that is our system and it cock blocks every turn we try to evolve as a species. The elite globalists are invested in eugenics programs around the world. Psychedelics are our last bastion of hope to tune us in to a universal truth, that we've been lied to since birth. Social engineering is a huge problem that psychedlics will remedy and dissolve with neurogenesis.

I totally 100% agree that this should be legalized and can help an array of issues. I also believe that perception and Radical Acceptance can heal in the very same ways. Taking time to appreciate and be grateful even if it seems as tho there may not be a silver lining, work hard to find the silver lining in the beginning of doing this it can be extremely difficult but with practices and awareness it becomes like flexing a muscle. You start seeing brighter colors and seeing more beauty in the world. Truly getting high on your own supply is the phrase that comes to mind.

And the government's stance is still that there's no medicinal value to LSD and there's a high potential for abuse. It's not physically addicting and you can't do it all the time, because you build up a tolerance very quickly. Even at microdose levels, you have to wait 3 or 4 days between doses to maintain the effect. At tripping doses, you have to wait about two weeks for it to be fully effective. What drugs are legal/illegal is more about the government wanting to keep everyone in line and producing. If people realized that we don't need all the crap that's forced down our throats by the advertising behemoth, what would happen to our consumer based economy. My God, we might have to develop a sustainable economy.

LSD is actually anti addictive meaning it creates non addictive behaviors in people. This has been known since the 1950s. The founder of the 12 Steps Alcoholics Anonymous is quoted as saying that if there were a 13th step it would be to take LSD.

People do not abuse drugs. Drugs are a substance, a non sentient substance, incapable of being abused. People abuse themselves, with drugs, perhaps. Or they act irresponsibly toward society as a whole. But people are not capable of abusing drugs. On the other hand, for those people who can be helped by drugs, many of us I would postulate, we are being denied the help we need for political reasons and religious reasons. The sufferer seems to be irrelevant to the system.

Explain to me how Americans are able to “force“ BRITs to shut down a program of their own? Careful w the anecdotal paraphrasing of your “research”… there’s an unlimited amount of stories and personal experiences to be had on the Internet, citing actual research CORRECTLY is extremely important in this process of trying to educate ourselves - if we ever want to legalize and validate these drugs for therapeutic uses.

Baring in mind that we all have slightly differing systems within us, I am really curious as to how microdosing is worked out for an actual dose. That's to say that if my ex wife wanted a great night on LSD, then 125ug was more than enough. But she was 5ft 2" and weighed around 110lbs. I on the other hand, am 6ft 2" and around 255lbs (these days) and would often want 2 to 3 times the amount she would. Now, assuming these are being used sensibly and not just for kicks, I would imagine that there must be some kind of scale to use. Kinda like a pack of tablets might say age 6 to 12 one tablet every 8 hours. Adults 2 to 3 tablets every 8 hours. Now that's a really basic form and with the alleged science that has been put into studies of microdosing, I'm wondering if there's a "X" amount per 50lbs of body weight, kinda scale out there to work from??

Body mass does not seem to have a significant impact on the intensity of effects from an LSD dose. I believe it's generally agreed that it's safest to start with 10ug (a tenth of a 100ug "standard" psychedelic dose) and if you feel you should take a slightly higher or lower dose the next time, tweak the dose by a few ug and see if that dosage is more suitable.
