This is one of my favorite podcast conversations of all time. When your first psychedelic was given to you by your friend and teacher Richard Alpert (Ram Dass), there is a good chance that you yourself are a legend. And Jim Fadiman is that. One of the true pioneers and revered elders in a field that has been deeply woven with my own life for the past 24 years. Jim Fadiman is a renowned author, educator, and co-founder of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (which later became Sofia University). We trade stories about our experiences while weaving in discussions about microdosing’s effects on the brain and how to drown out fear with love when navigating challenges. Additionally we touch on the difference in perspective between Ego and Eco (and how much there is to learn from trees), reincarnation, the connection between psychedelic use and kindness, and the importance of focusing on divine play and truly enjoying the game of life.

Psilocybin saved my life. I was addicted to heroin for 15 years and after Psilocybin treatment I will be 3 years clean in September. I have zero cravings. This is something that truly needs to be more broadly used in addiction treatment.

Psychedelics 🍄 killed my drug and alcohol dependencies - one trip two years ago to purge my depression and chronic anxiety from my system was the best decision I ever made. I've done psilocybin mushrooms a few times since, but after my last high dose trip I realized that the medicine has taught me enough for now. I might return to psychedelics later in my life if I ever find a source.

I've listened to many trip reports, books, talks on psychedelics before taking a proper dose myself. It's impossible to understand their effects on you unless you experience it directly. It does something physical to the brain, no amount of consuming information about them can even come close to trying them yourself.

When my father was in the final stages of Parkinson’s we asked his doctors to try cannabis. Without the family’s consent, the doctor gave him synthetic cannabis. I did not have another conversation with my dad again, in the physical sense. He made his transition days later. Synthetic is not the same as natural!

Great episode. I'm a huge fan of the earth fruits. Like you, I used to only use it for the psychedelic experience, but recently I've discovered that microdosing works better for my arthritis than anti-inflammatory meds. .05 of a gram and I forget I even have arthritis. Yes, I eat very clean and that's helped, but this just puts it over the edge. Awesome, awesome treatment if you suffer chronic pain. I take it at bed time. It helps me sleep like a baby. 🍄❤

Me me me, I'm first! 😂 5 grams of APES a couple weeks ago, went through death and rebirth. The death was amazing, dissolving into the Oneness.. it's the rebirth that was terrifying and very traumatic. Flipped my paradigm of understanding on birth and death, thank God for these experiences ❤
@DCRivs
@DCRivs 10 ай бұрын
Wow! What a champ! Could you share why the rebirth was traumatizing? I've heard the complete opposite, in the sense that the death is the traumatic part and rebirth the ecstatic part.
@ryanflanigan8176
@ryanflanigan8176 10 ай бұрын
@@DCRivs that's fascinating! So for me it seemed like as I was coming back into my identity, or back into my ego, I felt very disconnected from the Oneness, or maybe like disconnecting from the mothers womb, and in that individuation process I felt very cold and naked, and very vulnerable, I just wanted to be held or hold a loved one, I felt so alone and that even breathing itself was such a task 😂 I went from being as light as I've ever felt (in the Oneness) to feeling so heavy in my egoic state, just the contrast alone is probably what was so intense and "traumatic", also I'm sure our experience with our actual birth varies so much person to person.. some people might have amazing natural births and traumatic death.. I just felt like the Oneness was so beautiful and light that this individuated life is so much suffering in comparison.. I love life and I would be reborn infinite times, it's worth the suffering, but that "death" thing doesn't seem so scary personally anymore

This is pure gold! But Aubery, Im suprised you dont have a lot of experience with LSD. As a pioneering spirit you are, i was certain this was one of the favorite medicines😮 Would you mind explaining more on why? Im sure im close to 200 journeys with lucy and can not underscore enough how powerfull it is. What i have seen and experienced is far beyound words. But i think DMT broke the door fully open and made it possible to experience what i do on LSD. LSD makes you see every detail of the cosmos and consciousness that you can experience during dmt, psilocybin and changa journeys. Its like a microscope that enhances everything to the point where you absolutely understand everything and why.

You're talking a lot about theories that are in line with Alan Watts. I've experienced this myself, that we are all the same consciousness spread out into different beings (including animals) to the extent that we "forget" (by design) we are all one. That's how god plays a game with itself. And we are all it.

Referring to the part of the chat where Jim said what did they eat? I heard Darren Le Baron present a talk recently in which he was explaining the panspermia theory and how the earth, at least on land, was baron, only rock and the mineral world exited until the first spores arrived on meteorites, laying the ground for the first mycelial network. There are fungus species that evolved or maybe already did just eat rock. The ultimate recyclers, mushrooms eventually created soil, the soil eventually produced life, plant life that age birth to the atmosphere necessary for animal life to breathe. The mycelium exists within us as our nervous system. I guess we have a lot to thank the mushrooms for ? 🙏✨🍄

From his research stand point one would see why Fadiman has spent most of his time trying to understand how this compounds work in order to unlock its secrets. From a empiric perspective one does not ask how but rather why. At then end it's our own consciousness that is the key to a higher self, as the author proposes, there are many ways to get to the top of the mountain but the end goal is the same. As MAPS is on the verge of getting FDA aproval for MDMA and Psilo, will that lead to an overall higher state of awareness and consciouness?

If microdosing is done properly, you won’t trip so I wouldn’t worry. Hope you’re doing well

My brother had a bad trip, said he saw the meaning of everything and it was pointless, he became suicidal. He also said I was very special spiritually and that I would save the world. The problem is that I don't believe I'm the coming Christ.

Aubrey, I have had a very intense experiance throught my life with LSD. I spent four years taking it with a very abusive boyfriend every weekend. Every time I took it at some point I would go into my own hell realm and I had to get mysefl out every single time.. When I tell you four years I mean every weekend for four years with no weekends that I did not take it and every single trip I ended up in the hell realm either in the middle of the trip or at the end. I had several versions of it as well. What is tripping me out with this video is that the realms you both have described with the intergalactic fleet how in the fuck are we all seeing this same realm and it not be real? It has to be real and I have this to say that there is no way any human can ever get trapped there without choosing and just wilingly giving their power to that federation. The thing I believe should be taught to every person choosing to trip is that their power is theirs no matter what they think they traded it for they cant trade it because it is them and they cannot be enslaved in a way that they cannot get out whenever they so choose because we are so much more powerful than anything else. We are the entire existance that everything else resides within... Ok saying all that I need to say this that I switched from Swiss to Orange Sunshine and other types and I no longer get trapped in the hell realm but every single time I have ever taken swiss I have ended in the endless loop hell realm at the end. What I have done in the past was not to think of love but to remember that it will end that I just need to wait it out and possibley go to sleep which I very much can on any LSD. When I wake up even if I am still tripping I am out of the loop and I can then easy out of the trip. Another thing that has helped is to take xanax at the very end. not during if you take it during you just loose yourself and get even farther into the chaos. If someone needs to sober up so to speak they have to take Thorozine (not sure if that is how it is spelled) I will say this though that I didnt realize that the reason I have been getting trapped in the hell realm it is because I have been trained, programed taught whatever you wanna call it that I am not important I dont matter and no one wants me to exist. I have struggled with this for so long but I am finally beginning to trust the people around me and in turn beginning to trust myself. So I will say this if someone is getting stuck in a hell realm it is because they are rejecting some portion of themselves if not all of themselves. So I never ever suggest anyone take LSD if they have any sort of inner shaddows and if they feel like they need to use it to face their shadows and learn to love themselves then they must first establish a hard core ancher with one they love and one they know without a doubt loves them. before they go into the trip they must do this or like your friend they will get stuck in the hell realm it took me 10 years to believe that my soul had not been sucked out of my body and placed into a pod in order to prevent me from causing chaos in reality. My gift is chaos my purpose is to bring Karma to those around me and I am a high level creatrix alchemist and I do not believe that I would have levele up as high as I have if I had not gone through all the darkness in the world.

57:08 - Imagine if all the billionaires, CEOs, celebrities and politicians (the so called 'elites' currently controlling our world) in the entire planet were forced/mandated to take a high dose of psilocybin at least once every couple of years... The planet would be a MUCH better place for all living things, including the planet itself, because everyone will be looking out for the betterment of the planet and its inhabitants. Now lets work hard to have this mandated guys!!! 😁

I have no one else to ask. Why does psilocybin send me to the astral plane? Didn’t even know what that was before I saw it. Are some people predisposed. It wasn’t my intention to go there. On 2 separate occasions I floated through space and the cosmos. WTF?

I believe in natural drugs, yes I know lots of the bad stuff is natural too, my point is I was at the last try at this Ascension in the sixties and what took us down in the end were the drugs. The establishment knew what it was doing. Anyhow lets not start a new generation of hopeful lightworkers into a false sense of self in a drug. They help us know ourselves but we must know it is our choice. Sex is another thing that took us over and I know this channel loves that too but it is so misunderstood. Thanks
