Thanks for the comparison Sherry! I use the cutting boards as pattern templates for sewing. They certainly last longer than paper or cardboard templates. I think the new ones will work for me as well, but every once in awhile clarity does matter for fabric placement.

Same. I use these for so many things. Washable paint palette s cove my turn wheel in cement crafts. I even used one to put on my roof to catch rain when the installer cut shingles to short. Thank you for the welcome.🤗

thanks for letting us know...I will try to get some of the old ones before my store runs out. I was going to use them on the outside of paper covered notebooks, but the new ones will not work for that. I will have to come up with another solution. maybe laminate it.

Thought just occurred to me that using a warm iron with a pressing cloth on the crease on the stiffer ones might enhance the crease once the mat is scored.

I don’t mind if it’s not as clear. I like the fact that it’s easier to fold and burnish. I have arthritis in my hands so they will probably be easier for me

I largely used them because hot glue doesn't stick to them. I'd like to know how the new ones hold up on that front.

Does the new chopping mats appear to be thinner than the original ones? That might explain the ease in creasing and the flexibility. Curious if there is a millimeter thickness stated on the packaging. Thanks for the comparison. 💗🙂

I'm so glad the new ones will work for the folders even if they aren't as clear. I have a small stash of the clear ones that I will be sure to use for those projects where I REALLY want the clarity so that if we end up only being able to get the new ones at some point, I won't be too disappointed.

I want to thank you for the Great tips. I will try to get both. I have never heard of your Ideals before. I just discovered your channel and I subscribed right a way. Also I live in Crescent City CA and the store went up to $1.25 but right across the border is Brookings Or. The price is still $1.00. So what I get gas I hope to Brookings so guess what. I save on gas, pay no taxes on what I buy. Then O get to go to a nice restaurant for free. My husband Bob who is on heaven used to tease me about this and my arts and craft. Yet he would alway give a card with money on it for these things on all occasions and at the same time . He would get my Special Present 🎁 to open. Yes Our Heavenly Father blessed me with Bob

I do keep one of these on my wood kitchen counter at all times for cutting. I also use one for cutting on top of my self-healing craft mat. I don’t know why. They’re cheaper than craft mats maybe? Thanks for the heads-up and the comparison. I think I’ll keep the clear O have and any I can get for envelopes/crafting and use the less transparent ones for my counter and crafting table.
