I just did the TRD 2 inch lift installed by the Toyota dealer. Great upgrade and it won’t mess with my 100K mile warranty!

I noticed a HUGE ride increase when I installed the TRD pro suspension lift kit on my 2019 Tacoma off road. Way smoother on and off road with great ground clearance that doesn’t kill my CV joints or drive shaft. Only down a minor mpg loss on the freeway

Just bought a magnetic gray metallic colored 2023 trd off road Tacoma. Love it sofar. Looking forward yo get the trd lift kit installed on my truck next spring. Going to go up from 265 to 285 taller tire. Looking forward to taking my 5acoma riding on the fire trails in northeast tn/ southwest Virginia and over in western north carolina. Mountains.

Im old. Im wired for the tactile feel of buttons , knobs and dials in my Tacoma . On the other hand my 4 year old Nephew is a wiz with all the touch screen controls on my brothers Merc. Hopefully the future 4th gen Tacoma can balance the 2 worlds . And you are correct, Toyotas TRD components are rebranded Bilstein 5100’s . The Bilsteins come with a limited lifetime warranty vs Toyotas 12-36 month (warr depends on port or dealer installation).

The locker didn't work because of the physics. The rear wheels need to turn at different speeds so they end up at the same place at the same time, then the locker can engage. So if you are on a hill with tires slipping, engage the locker button, then slowly give it gas allowing the tires to slip. If just sitting still or driving straight without wheel spin the locker might not engage. If on dry ground such as grass and you want to engage it before entering the bad area to keep momentum, just drive in figure 8's and it will help with engaging and disengaging the locker.

Got a Lunar rock 2022 TRD off road on order. Spec'd with premium offroad package( For leather and heated seats), Tech pack, Led Headlights, I went Auto since its negative 30 up here in winter. Other things that were added to the build are bed lights and the tonneau cover. those two things I would have skipped since the bed lights are a third of the price and its plug and play. and the cover I am going with a different one to haul motorcycles easier.

What car seat is that? Doesn’t stick out towards the front as much as mine… which takes up too much space in the backseat of my tacoma… I love my trd offroad!

I have a 2022 TRD OR and I have the blackout package, bed lights, door edge guard, all weather floor liner and sill protector, technology package, LED headlights, TRD Pro skid plate (for easier oil changes), I am adding nFab predator pro side step runners... BTW its an access cab (saves $$)

Install an Overland Torque Tune and your Tacoma’s torque will start at 2K RPM. Furthermore the OTT will Stop your Tacoma from “hunting” for gears.

I have the trd kit on my 2022 and to be honest I really think it softened up on the street. Its night and day. Its still a truck dont get me wrong but it is a little more squishy. And I like it, I came from a 97 2wd f1shity that rode like a caddi, so it was a shock to me on how rough it was with out the lift kit.

Trd lift kit is nice if your like me and have a beware truck ans don't want to lose any of the warranty. Rode is better than stock to me on and offroad. Trd pro grill is a bonus or comes with. I had Toyota install mine just so I have no issues I'd anything breaks later. Although had to tell them to leave my fog lamps in. Toyota sends covers but they dint actually blind anyone kn mine and are lower than headlamp light still. My cost worh my special deals since I buy alot of lasts from Toyota for the body shop.i manage. Trd lift 1050 Install with rental car 1000. Calibration , alignment and front camera install are all.part of ot with new grill. Extra I got Trd pro bronze 17s 275/70r17 tires

Awesome video! I heard you say there was a way to buy just the shocks and not the whole kit? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I have the trd pro skid plate and grill already on my 2020 trd off road. I just want that 2 inch in the front and 1 in the rear more without paying $1500 for the kit since I do not need the grille either. Where can I get just the shocks?

Gear hunt ? When I test drove the z71 Colorado and the ranger I found that they were downshifting more than the Tacoma , they would down shift 2 even 3 gears where Tacoma would only down shift 1 gear , Colorado would down shift from 8th gear to 6th and ranger would down shift from 10th gear to like 7th gear even sometimes 6th where the Tacoma would only down shift from 6th to 5th on the same route , I bought a 21 TRD off road double cab 4x4 premium pkg with LED head lights in a automatic and couldn’t be any happier the truck does everything I want it to do and much more with no fuss , I did put 1.5 inch lift on it with fox by pass shocks on all 4 corners and went with a 32 inch toyo AT3 drives great and does great off road it has a lot of suspension travel I hardly ever use the crawl or locker , 20k miles on it and not 1 issue ….

I love the Tacoma but the gear hunting is a lot worse than the other 8 and 10 speed transmissions because of the spacing between gears and speed of the shifts. It’s been a very common complaint about the Tacoma since 2016.

I went with the kd maxx pro tune for my 17' trd orsb 4x4,that and a set of seat jackers for both front seats just for little more comfort. A couple of the best type mods I've done to my truck along with k&n air filter, and a hi c century camper shell. My only real regret with my truck I should have went with the longer bed.

17:48 so if I want to purchase the same shocks I can, what would I have to purchase to raise the rear? Does Toyota sell those metal blocks you get with their TRD lift kit?

Either a 1" block or Add A Leaf. The AAL is the better option

The "low seating position" is because it actually has ground clearance. It's like car seating position, so that it has massive ground clearance. This is what Tacoma owners want. If you want a mall driver get a gmc/chevy/ranger pos has 2 inches of clearance.

Tacoma 4x4 ground clearance = 9.4 inches, Ranger = 8.9 (9.7 with Tremor), Colorado/Canyon = 9.6. They all have sufficient mall crawling clearance.

Had a 3.5"lift +35's on my Silverado, parked my bone stock TRD off-road next to it and the rocker sat 2" higher lol

I did. They look good in the box but I haven't installed them yet and probably won't. I didn't realize that I need a block in the rear that sits on the axles. After researching what size block I need I found something that Concerns me. 1, I don't what size block I need. 2, apparently, axel wrap is a problem when using a block on Tacomas. I don't want a warped axel so I think a leveling kit is the best for me.

That’s right. It also relocates the front radar sensor for the radar cruise control lower to keep it in calibration with the lift kit.

For 65k ok bro lol I can throw a front locker on mine for 2500$ and have a higher clearance better approach and leave angle and reliability of a fucking grandpas coffee routine lol

@@richardfarmer4448 My 18 Rado ZR2 was $37k out the door brand new. I have a better suspension, more HP, and more torque. Speaking of Grandpas stop living in the past when Toyotas actually earned their reputation as being reliable.

Sadly it won’t. The only rig to make it up in 2wd is a raptor. The hill is steeper than it looks on video.

The crawl control has a 1 to 5 miles per hour setting. The noise you hear is the abs braking system controlling the speed. I have the TRD off-road double cab, which is really great for off-roading.
