I have both, and I love them. The RGB20SX is an incredible device to play arcade games. I modded both with kapton tape. Without that, I would be sad and would probably sell them. I also switched the rubber membranes for better ones. Highly recommended mods!

@adinwalls I ordered RG353M membranes from Anbernic for my RGB20SX. I have them installed on my RGB30's d-pad; they are a bit better and slightly more tactile. Not much better, though! By the way, great video. I appreciate your content.

Love the screen on it ! I think thst the miyo mini + is so good is because of the d pad and overall great controls and quality :)

Yes agreed. Miyoo Mini Plus has a better dpad. I like the action buttons on both.

Thank you for pointing out the issue with the triggers. I would love to have the clear blue one, but I have already 6 RK3566 devices…and 3 of them are a Kitty Firty. So I keep my fingers to myself and for the SP to go on sale…the clear blue one and the silver one for 100$ and I‘m in. Do you need another RGB30? I have a yellow spare…

Not sold on the RGB20sx, those shoulder buttons being the main reason also the sticks seem a bit low for use on the few systems I might use them for. Will stick with my RGB30 minty green version with Arkos on it (wanted the yellow version but could not find it in stock - when I purchased my device).

hey man , I want to buy an emulation handheld under 100 dollars and I never owned one before. So I don't know much about these things practically. I have watched so many videos on KZfaq from different youtube channels but still not really sure what will to pick . So please recommend me something like a overall good handheld under 100 dollars. please reply ?

Hey man. There are so many factors here. The Retroid Pocket 2s is the best here but check shipping. Anbernic RG353V is a nice vertical option. Powkiddy RGB10 Max 3 is great, just not the best dpad. There are concessions with each decision, small screen, low power, so you just have to write down you critical hit points

@@adinwalls I'd like to know if there is a battery mod for the RGB30 (fhirtty 😉) as a bit more battery would be awesome, I know it's pretty easy to add rumble motors and the D-pad tape fix (not done those as don't feel I need them).

I prefer a portrait handheld, with the mods I've done to the d pad and the triggers, I prefer using this to the RGB30 now, it's my handheld of choice, especially with Pico-8

Hey man. Yes I need to check your dpad mod. I’m struggling with L2 and R2 sticking. What should I do? Just sand them down a bit. I think my print was just a bit off.

@@adinwalls I am assuming you used the different file for L2 and R2? As those are a different shape and size. There is an STL file for L1/R1 and a different file for L2/R2. If you did indeed do that, I think it's likely down to the discrepancy between different printers. Mine is a fairly budget model but it's reliable (Ender 3 V3 SE), however I did all the testing on this printer and got a perfect fit on my RGB20SX. I tried printing some on the other printer I have at work but that was having levelling issues. I might try some out on my resin printer and see how that goes. The d-pad mod with the diagonal tape is working really well for me so far.

@JoeBleeps hey man. Yes I used the different field. And I printed on a resin printer. I’m going to sand the edges down and see if that helps.

@@adinwalls interesting. I'd have experienced resin to be better. Mine are FDM and I only did them on 0.2mm resolution so they should be an easy print

Ya man, but these Lipo batteries have a shelf life, and they used to be in everything until Lithium Ion took over, which is kind of scary.

That screen is to cry for but boy o boy, I sure wish it had 2gb of ram. This device would shine much brighter. On side note, I wish powkiddy would get away from the goofy name and stickers. 😅

it would be a banger vertical with 1x1 4.0inch screen, but the overall desing is still trash. way to plain, less ergonomic. they just don't want to design/develop. they buy parts without brain and stick them together everytime to sell poor moneygrabber devices. the height of the joys can break and kill most human beings thumbs. the best part is still the screen. if they ever decide to remake this or the RGB30 console they must: - use higher quality case - use better components (for example the RGB30 use tablet speakers which are BOTH FACING TO THE LEFT) - use higher quality buttons or at least the rubber pads... COME ON POWKIDDY! - decrease the bezels as much as possible to give more place for the buttons and the screen - make it just a bit more compact and thin you can do it powkiddy. use your willpower at least one time for god sake.

@@ViBENo1Yes, RG CUBE. But it's another wird device for no one, same as Ayaneo Pocket DMG. RG CUBE has a T820 chip and it's on Android, so it wouldn't be a RGB30 competitor. No native Piko-8 support, to much power for target systems, probably to expensive to be competitive.

@@przemekg9045 now i see. yes, it is way more overpowered, so the price range will be much more different. and on software side andoid is not so optimal.... however blackseraph is nowadays pretty familiar with unisoc devices. so maybe he will investigate on the RG cube. who knows...

The Miyoo Mini Plus is cute as heck and has comfortable buttons and d-pad, but the hardware is slow and Onion is probably the jankiest Linux-based OS I've ever used. Other budget devices have much better software and performance, but the controls hurt to play for long. Would be awesome if someone finally made one which both runs well and feels comfortable.

@@adinwallsOnion OS actually is the ONLY reason the MM+ is relevant. R36S and all those RG35XXXSPXHXXX2024s have better hardware.

@@adinwalls It may have something to do with me spending a couple decades developing Linux distros for a living. Onion is way better than stock, but it's missing a ton of features and basic Linux stuff compared to something like batocera.

PowKiddy Devices are sh*t. Their only one-hit wonder is the RGB30. Their screens are waaay too dim. Even sold my RGB 10 Max 3. The screen was barely visible at a brightness 9/10...
