I absolutely love your videos!!! Iv had my axolotls for a week now and with this video you answered a LOT of my questions.

my axolotl isnt used to having plants yet, so he sometimes spooks himself when he floats by and hits them. he then proceeds to frantically swim directly into them for several seconds

First off, I love that axolotl painting you have there. I feed my babies two worms a day because they are skinny, the worms that is and they eat them no problem. they always stand up at the glass ready for breakfast. LOL..yes I see those loverly eyes of yours. And the lotls do bump around the tank. doesn't look like it hurts though. I set up the tanks like an island to where they have access all around the sides of the tank and can't get stuck behind anything. their temp is 65 degrees. thanks for all you do and keep it up.

love your videos, man. got my axolotl 1 week ago and it seems to be going well. water temps are stressful, but the season is about changed and shouldn't be a problem for another 8 months. i'll save up for a chiller for next summer :)

Now what if an axolotl is swimming around for hours on end bumping into things? Watched him last night just going ham for hours. Woke up and he's doing it again. Going to test the water when I get home but I'm new to axolotls so it's weird haha

I was thinking about getting an axolotl, and I was wondering can I use substrate? Like sand, and what decor can I put in the tank? And do I need a different lid? Or can I use the one the tank comes with? And what water temperature do I need?

i just got 2 axolotls into my 300L tank. got a albino and a black one . the albino loves to use the bubbler to rise up then dart around . but im a lil worried. the petstore told me that the ammonia,nitrate,nitrite have to be top line on the test (oppm). but i swear the last one needs to be between 5-20 . but theyve been very helpful so far so ??

why are my two axolotls cuddling? i have 4 but 2 of them always stay together and when they arent moving around they cuddle together. new to axolotls, more experienced in cichlids

Hi! I have a huge concern with my axie. I've tried everything so I'm turning to you. Her behavior has been waaay off. She's been swimming frantically for about 3 days now. I did a water and vacuumed her sand. The waters testing right. But she's still acting crazy! I'll place her in a small bowl and she stops. But once I put her back in the tank. She goes crazy again. Her tails red too. I think from banging it on the tank. Please help me fix her. I feel bad and don't know what else to do for her.

My axolotl swims to the top of the tank and right back down several times a day, is this a reason for concern?

Hi, I adopted someone's axolotl a week ago as they no longer had time for it. I have got it new things because its had not hides,filter and had gravel in its tank. So I have made its tank axolotl safe now. My question is,is it normal for my axolotl to just stay hidden all day and most of the time except for feeding. It doesn't swim much either. Thanks

Both of my axolotls are "pacing" or shifting back and fourth, doing it at different times not together, though they are in a 75 gallon tank and have space. Did a half tank water change, temp is good and parameters are good, and they are eating, should I have a vet look at them?

I love how they all have their own personalities! If I put my hand in the tank Squishy will come nip at me or ignore me, but I accidentally dropped some blood worms on his back instead of infront of him. Friggin' guy did a super zoom like a pinball off the tank walls and sent bloodworms everywhere! I was like ARE YOU FOR REAL MAN? I felt bad for his little nose though! haha 😅

Hey Frankie - enjoyed the vid as usual. I'm about a week into tank cycling as I wait for my daughter's birthday and her axolotl (I'm secretly claiming half ownership) I bought a whole set up from someone who never got around to setting it up. My question is about sponge filters....I see in your tanks you have 1 set up and run it pretty slow. My set up came with two sponge filters and a dual air pump. Is this overkill? Am I fine to run them both? Can you over filter your tank? It is 75 litres and the sponge filters are reasonably large. I've put things in the water and there doesn't seem like there is a fast current so I'm happy with that......just wanted to know if I should buy a single air pump and remove one

Hello! So I’ve had my Axolotl for close to a year now, and his gills have been curled forward since I got him, I’ve kept my eye on the water quality and the temperature, but everything seems to check out. I recently switched to a sand bottom, as opposed to just glass, so I’ll see if that changes anything! His gills are also super fluffy so I’m wondering if that’s why they’re curled?
