Forever love hate relationship with test kits 😂 My personal axie first aid shelf has hortfrier salt, almond leaves, tea bags, some bottled treatments, some grub pie for any that are off food, and of course LOTS of tubs of LOTS of different sizes 😂 oh plus ten thousand spare sponge filters and a few extra air pumps 😂 The one thing I've learnt is can never have too many tubs with axolotls 😂 also prime smells like how I imagine paranormal shows saying they smell sulphur from demons must be like 😂

Finally picked up a golden albino & a pink albino lotl yesterday after my kids' nagging FOREVER. We're in love! These little creatures are so cool! ❤❤ I want one in every color now! Ha!

I turned my 4ft tank into an axolotle black water tank with beach sand and it looks great. Now to plant some amazon sword plants.

Thanks as always for the good info^-^ I had no idea you could get tea extract! I’ve been using the actual tea leaves and had good experiences, but I’m definitely going to order the extract now!

Brilliant video! Have you ever tried 'Seachem Safe'? It's the concentrated powder version of Prime, does exactly the same job just more cost effective. Difficult to measure for 1 or 2 tanks but ideal for daily, multiple tank, water changes. You had me for a sec with that rolling pin, was so intrigued to know what use you had for it 😂! I would love a gadget for chopping multiple worms like a 'Slap-Chop' for worms!

Thanks for the tips! I've never used this product myself, however I've heard very food things about it, so I think I will give it a try! I also really like that idea for an 'easy chop' system for our worms! You're giving me all these really useful ideas here! lol

@@FrankiesUploads Oh I'm full of ideas, just don't do anything about it 😂! I'm sure it would be simple enough to make an 'easy chop', a couple of razor blades attached to some plastic like a stapler or something. I would buy one anyway!

I just got 2 from my little sister an she was not doing a great job on there up keep an one is missing one leg and one arm and has white dots on its head what is the best course of action i wish i could show you a picture this breaks my heart to see them like this

How do you know if you want to write out is looking cheerful because I’ve got one much alright it’s swimming round the tank fine but the other one doesn’t want to do anything and he is a back does that mean there’s something wrong with him

So I’ve tested my home water and all of the test have come back perfect to were the axolotl needs it to be then I pour it in the Tank and because it has sand (substrate) it changes the high range ph in it🤦🏻‍♀️…. So I bought the almond leaves and it looks to be working a bit. My question what is the difference between with ph and high range ph? Does it matter if my high range ph is on the 8.2 instead of the 7.4? I’ve seen some people say it doesn’t matter and others it’s a big no no. But it also says to put my axolotl in it and he will get use to it and also fix the water high range ph 😅help.

I use invert aquatics newt and salamander pellets for my single axolotl. It’s from Amazon just in case anyone’s having trouble finding the other ones.

Update: she’s has decided to boycott pellets😂😂 so now she’s on cut up, stunned red wigglers and she’s eating much better than she was with the pellets.👍🏽 😂 My personal care bin has some natural green tea bags, methylene blue, Furan2, api stress coat, stability, siphon, Turkey baster, a siphon, and a tub😂 I’m sure I’m forgetting something!

Ugh. Having a bit of a fungus issue right now, and have my poor guys on medication baths. Meds were taken straight from the unam's axolotl manual (if you can read/speak Spanish, that may be a good read for you, if probably a bit basic for your level by now) and boy, are they unhappy about it. They are eating ok, skin looking ok, and the fungus is gone... But they are being a bit moody at me for sure!

If you get an API kit or other test kit, are the recommended levels in the booklet the ones recommended for Axolotls?

I'm about to get 2 axies, in my research I've seen equal amount or sites saying to keep mystery snails and ghost shrimp in the tank with the axolotl to keep it clean as sites saying not to. Your thoughts?

I'm buying a 40 gallon breeder I want 2 or 3 axlotls no substrate fake coral 2 filter pumps and a light black background fake plants water tester food bowels nets bloodworms cooling fan do I need my pump on 247 I've never looked after gold fish or any aquarium will I be OK and I'm a clean freak anyway do I not clean the tank too much arelivee plant benificial do I need anything to help keep water clear glass cleaners temp gauge can you do a video on testing water 💦

is it true that people send axolotl via post when bought online and is that safe? I've never bought an aquatic animal before so I don't know if that's normal, I mean, I wouldn't send a cat or dog through the post but I don't know if it's different with aquatics or is that a really stupid idea? :)

Hallo! Can I feed an axolotl a pellet only diet? We’re looking into having one at the moment and I’m a bit squeamish with worms! If we have too, then we have too but if I can get away with just pellets that would be great!

You sure the conditioner didn't go bad? I use Seachem Neutral Regulator and it is odorless. Same with Aqueon conditioner.

Hi Frankie, we have well water which is on the soft side. Ph 7.4, TDS 76. Do you recommend to add salt in my tank like holtfreter's solution or something like that for the axolotl in the long term? Do they live fine with just soft water?

Can I use tap water.. do I have to filter it .. What temperature do I need my tank and what are the exact numbers for pH nitrate and ammonia need to stay at to ensure my water stays the same all year how often should I. Change the water and how long should I keep my pumps on 247 do they enjoy flow pumps and is fake coral OK to use.. Caan I get tank mate cleaners with my ancelotles do I need light for my anclelotle and which is there best diet.... What do you mean by a Balanced water change do I need to filter my water 💦

I know its been 3 months but no ones replied to you so.. You can certainly use tap water as long as you use a conditioner and run tests to make sure that the PH levels are good (6.5-8) and no chlorine. Temperature around 15-18 degrees (C). If you have a 20gallon tank its best to do 20% water changes weekly and making sure you have a good filter with as little water flow as possible (they enjoy still water). Anything you put inside the tank for decoration is fine as long as they have smooth edges and all that because of their sensitive bodies. Any tank fishy mates may be eaten and other axolotls when young may nip at each other. Hopefully this helps

Hi i no this video is old but when looking for help it comes up on google, so i thought id message as i need some guidance. I have two axolotls i think there now juniors i had them from babies. But the one has but the others leg off and its limping and doesnt seem to be eating much unless i hand feed it. Do i separate then and put it into quartine. Theres so many answers and un answered online and im stuck. Thanks
