Better Than Yesterday

Back when I was in still in school there was this stereotype going around.
Kids who were nerdy and never did any kind of sports were considered the most intelligent and bright.
The jocks who were sporty and fit, were often branded as simple-minded and empty-headed.
So by following this stereotype you had two groups: Smart and weak. Dumb and fit.
However in the recent years, there's a new stereotype that's gained popularity: A smart jock.
An individual who is both intellectually gifted and is physically fit.
Did they win the genetic lottery or is it possible that exercise could make you smarter?
Today we'll look at the body-brain connection and how moving our body can benefit the brain.
Some of the studies mentioned in the video:

One tip from my learning for the exams - make the run a reward for learning. It is unbelievable how it tricks your mind! Earlier a run was "necessary evil" for me and I went 1x in 2 weeks. While learning I just simply changed the mindset from a "punishment" to a "reward". I swear I go running every single day since. Plus the benefit for learning! I finished with excellent grades and I keep running switching to trail running at the moment! :)

I grew up in Switzerland and we always had lots of different exercises to do. No fat kids ever - and still now they keep slim. Healthy eating habits is what you learn in Switzerland at home and school. I am forever learning and no take away at my house. Only home cooking. I feel good, happy and enjoy new experiences. As someone who is very inactive, I could really say that I tend lag and is kinda slow to learn compared to my classmates who are very active in many physical activities. Thank you so much for this! Someday when I improve myself and get better, I won't forget to come back here and thank you for contributing in my self-improvement. How I wish our school would teach us like this and care for us rather than making us robots and making us learn just for our "grades". It sucks ya' know..😔 But I'll do my best to learn outside of school like right now☺

Hi Giri Varshiniachar. I started my walking November of 2018. Prior to that, for around 2 to 3 years I have already been going on a one full meal and one or two snacks per day but all those times, every time I look in the mirror I don't see me getting smaller. When I started to walk in the manner I did and after just a couple of months, I started to notice my clothes were getting loose. Then, I realized that when you go on just plain diet, we may be losing weight but our bodies do not actually shrink on its own. From this time, the motivation to continue with both the diet and walking was getting more and more encouraging for me.
