When you become the aggressor in the relationship, you are with the wrong man. If he thinks you are too easy to obtain, you are with the wrong man. *Both of these statements are significant, because they reflect a woman's worth- to HERSELF. You are worth being pursued. You are not easy- that doesn't mean you're playing hard to get, but it means that whoever is pursuing you feels like he has won a PRIZE once he has you! If he feels like he didn't win, that has nothing to do with your worth- but his perception of it.

Oops didn't realize how old your post was! Amen 100% It feels so much better if you are pursued. I don't know why women are chasing after these men? Girl, they are buying these men cars, giving money, buying clothes. I am like STOP!!!! The crazy part is that he is taking your car to go see someone else! How many times have I seen this. Over and over again. It's foreign to me! Ladies, we must not be a doormat just to get male attention. You are worth so much more. I stop telling men my profess because they thought I was literally going to be their Suga Momma. I kid you not. Their eyes would light up like a Christmas tree when I told them what I did for a living. I could see them crunching my numbers in the head. I kid you not! I was oh no! That ain't happening. My brothers would kick my butt all over Detroit. I would get a serious butt whipping from all of them.. And a real man would not accept money from a woman. It's just something that is in them. Once you are married, things change of course. But as far as dating.. oh no! I never had a problem attracting men of all nationalities. Kristie does not discriminate at all! I used to but I am getting better/healing from the past regarding a specific race of men. Better every day!

I think another point to look for if YOU are ready is: are you ready to submit to him? God calls us to submit to our husbands (and surely he is supposed to be worthy of that submission as he must be submitted to Christ first), and not to try to lead him or be controlling, but able to submit to this man of God as the head of the household. If you are not ready to submit then I don't think one can be ready for a God-ordained marriage.

And the onus should not just fall on women/wives-the church doesn't preach enough of how a man must be submitted to Christ first, and worthy of that submission from his wife-but the onus falls heavily on the men as well. His readiness to lead in Christ must be present otherwise a woman is just submitting to a man. Not a godly man. And the two are vastly different. I believe that in the same likeness, he is not ready for marriage as well if christ is not his leader

That’s a mature response. So many women either compromise by repressing the truth and staying in a relationship that is not meant to be. How much happier and at peace will one be if she’ll trust God enough to walk away from what’s familiar and follow her divine path instead.

I really love how honest, and how genuine she is. I am 51, and I have never been married. I don't think I want biological children at my age, and so I don't know that all her pieces of advice apply to me. I do love how real she is though.

It's crazy because I'm hearing it through a lens of how we should love God: putting Him as priority above all else, making sacrifices, not having a compartmentalized life but going all in to love... It's really good to think about this, I love this. Definitely something to think about! 🧡

Lord this is what I went through for 10 years. I kept thinking he would treat me better and start showing love again through action. He was able once, but the damage was done & things never were the same. I finally left after 15yrs. Lord continue to give me strength, cuz it hurts.

This message is so on time. I get a lot of pressure from the people around me to get a man and to get married. But deep down inside of me I know, that I'm not ready, I'm quite independent and still trying to figure out different aspects of my life. Marriage is truly about two people becoming one and building a future together in agreement.

Hallelujah! We bless God for your wisdom! I believe that God is calling me out of the single season soon. I feel it in my Spirit so I know He's working on it. I'm not sure where He's taking me but as far as He's the one leading, I will gladly follow. And yes, His son is going to give me the highest regards and respect possible and I will be at rest, not because His son is perfect but because the marriage is preserved by Him!

NOPE! It didn't say that! That comes AFTER he has earned you. We make the mistake of giving a man credit that he does not deserve by always "giving him the benefit of the doubt" or "what he meant to do/say was..." He should know you are the prize first and believe you are essential for his purpose in life THEN we are charged (after marriage) to help him meet his FULL purpose. But he should be so in tune with God that he knows what that is off the riff. Him being undecided makes him UNSTABLE!!!

This was some very good advice about preparing for marriage it's true people know that it's certain things that don't really agree with while dating the person but choose to settle after they realize that the person is not really marriage material like you said that's a recipe for distruction so it's no body fault but yours.

I feel like there are many men who sacrifice a lot for their wives but the wives don’t realize it and start to “expect” it without anything in return. It would have been nice for them to mention that the sacrifices they desire so highly from a “great man”, should be acknowledged frequently to said great man and so you ensure they also feel appreciated; Instead of just expecting and taking from them. And that women themselves should also be willing to self sacrifice. Relationships aren’t a one way street after all.

A man must always be dedicated to his purpose FIRST above and beyond a woman because that is how he provides for himself and eventually his wife. For example the movie..mo..betta blues, him being dedicated to his craft paid his bills but did you notice SHE was tryin her best to get him off his game and spend time with her and he did eventually get married BUT NOT TO HER ! The lesson is..a man must fulfill himself in order to be any good to you

I don’t see these sisters in Christ as so perfect. I see them as overcomes. Sharing their testimonies, being transparent are their way of saying to us viewers that if God brought me out. If He walked me through my growing pains. He can and will do the same thing for you. They let you know that you are not alone, to be encouraged and that if we have faith in Jesus and see life lessons through His eyes. You will be victorious. These Better Together sisters in Christ are beautiful inside out. God through them always give us an right now word.

It’s crazy cuz I know I met the man I’m going to marry but he’s not ready yet and it’s frustrating knowing what I know and having to be patient and watch him kind of go thru a few storms because Gods still working on him before he will be ready for me and the life I know we are meant to have to together... and it’s not easy ugh
