Reasons I think Barchie is endgame: Archie rejected Betty in s1 bc he was scared of losing her as a friend and he didn’t think of her as anything more than a friend, at least not yet. I think when Betty first told him he didn’t think anything of it but later started to develop feelings for her. He told Betty in s1 he was sorry but thought “it would be better in the long run” meaning he’d rather have a friendship with her than a possible failed relationship (at least at that point.) But then Jughead, who had also been friends with Betty for many years took a chance with her and they started dating. I think it was then that Archie started looking jealous and regretful, he even tried telling Betty that “he thought they would end up together” but she cut him off. Maybe if Bughead never happened Archie would’ve never gone after Veronica in the first place, who knows. Also, Betty liked Archie from the very beginning, she liked him as a kid and even when he wasn’t “hot.” Archie made a mistake when he had his chance and rejected her, but I think he was just scared of what it could mean, and didn’t realize he could never have that chance with her again. I really hope the writers explore them more in s5, and not just in a flash forward, because I think they deserve to be explored. It’s been the same couples for 5 seasons long and they’ve been putting so many hints and clues about Barchie, it would be a shame to just drop this ship because of angry bughead shippers like many people are saying. That’s all I’m thinking 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just realized that at 1:33 Archie’s mom isn’t asking if Veronica heard because she thought it was for her, she asked because she knew it was for someone different. Otherwise, she would have not said “sounds like you wrote it for someone special”. SHE KNOWS.

okay so we all know that there is a time jump 5 years when season 5 starts and a lot of people are hoping for betty and archie to be together (or even married)... as much as i would love that, i hope that's not what happens! if the writers to decided to have betty and archie together then, I WANNA SEE THAT HAPPEN! i love every small moment they have and i don't want to just jump cut to seeing them together and already go through the stages before you date! i hope that in season 5 they continue to take their time with this relationship and hopefully it will grow into something so much more than what we have already gotten, AND THAT WE GET TO SEE IT!

I love this video, it's beautiful. Archie and betty , they love veronica and jughead. They're just not in love with them anymore or they wouldn't have kept thinking about each other. There is a big difference. Betty is also scared to start something with Archie because he hurt her the first time she admitted her feelings. She does love jughead, but I believe she will one day be with Archie.

Notice when she is around him she is the same as she was in the first episodes.. calm & cute, not edgy and 'badass' like she's near Jughead in the other episodes.

THIS IS GOOD!!!! I definitely think that Barchie is endgame. I could definitely be wrong but from what I got from the episode where they’re trying to figure out what’s going on between them, I can’t help but think they’re just trying to convince themselves they love Jughead and Veronica. Betty and Archie keep saying they love them but their actions show much different. She might have said that it’s over, but it’s definitely not. Her keeping that one diary is her keeping Archie tucked in the back of her mind. She will always love him and I think it’s gonna take this time jump for her to realize. There’s too many clues and foreshadowing for the writers to not explore Barchie, even if it’s not endgame and just for a season or less. I just hope the writers know to not let fandoms affect how they write the show. They gotta do what makes sense or else the show will not be good. Sorry rant over now!!

I feel like a big thing apart from Cheryls talk with Betty is she’s afraid that he’ll hurt her again like before. She has a type of stability with Jughead he won’t leave her, she knows he will forever be their. She’s scared if she leaves Jughead Archie will change his mind and leave her while she would also loose the people around her. Archie said “your to perfect for me” maybe that’s what Betty wanted him to see, wanted others to see so they couldn’t see what she was really going threw. Now she has become more comfortable with others and is showing her true self she’s not perfect which could possibly make him think differently from his decision before about wanting to be with her. Idk could be just a guess.

I remember watching a clip and Betty having a crush on Archie and immediately shipped them that’s why I was kind of confused when they ended up with two different people lol though I never really watched the show I’d watch it to see these two

Honestly I’m gonna be pretty confused if Barchie isn’t endgame because throughout the show Jughead is the narrator. He’s like that in s1 because he’s covering the story about Jason’s mysterious murder, but he continues the role throughout the show. In the pilot episode when Archie rejects Betty, Jughead says “it wasn’t one heart that broke that night, it was two.” And then in the second season he says something about them seeing eachother “as if for the very first time.” And there might be more I can’t remember. But my point is this implies that Jughead knew about their feelings for eachother, somewhere later down the line, so it wouldn’t make sense if they don’t address it at all, and it would seem more likely that Barchie actually end up together than bughead end up together yet Jughead is narrating their “love story” in a way.

The reason why Bughead has always been the best couple even though Archie is the main main character is because Archie was never in love with Veronica. He just always thought he wasn't good enough for Betty & feared to mess up & Break her,,,,then boom a hot girl(Veronica) shows up in town & he just filled that void. Betty honestly fell in love with Jughead because she was sure she would never get Archie so when she fell for Jughead it was easier & more real than for Archie who was trying to hide his feelings by filling the void with the new hot girl in town while worrying he may actually lose Betty to Jughead for good. I love Bughead but it was clear from the word go that Barchie is endgame that's why I stopped watching. It has always been clear that Barchie is endgame anyone who says otherwise just choose to ignore the signs.😒

I just feel like the writers always planned to switch to Barchie (because endgame) but they had to add the whole cheating storyline because of fan service. In the comics, Betty was obsessively running after Archie and he kept chasing Veronica, I always felt, creating Bughead made Betty a better character. It was also a good character development arc for Archie. However, I like the idea of an asexual Jughead (just like in the comics) (also representation). In my ideal world where there wouldn't be fanservice (also I know every ship has toxic people, but Bughead seems to have a lot of them somehow), I imagine that after they fake dated, Betty realizes that her old feelings are coming back and she breaks up with Jughead. Then they have some individual development (esp Archie because the cheating is still not far from Archie's character). Then they develop like the absolute iconic ship they are and the core four would still thrive.

I know it was wrong of Betty to not be honest with Jughead and tell him about the kiss but I think she has to come to terms that she is still in love with Archie. I think both Veronica and Jughead have known for awhile now. Also Archie was honest with Veronica about both of the kisses. I think Betty is just extremely afraid of what happens if she does give into temptation. She doesn't want to hurt her best friend nor her boyfriend.
