I want to believe that my video had a part in the change.
I thought about taking this video down now, but they were dishonest for months upon months before changing the listing and probably fooled quite a lot of buyers, so I decided to keep it up.

I hate that I had to make this video. This Rolex Submariner Hulk homage watch is NOT what Lige say it is.
Lige sent me this watch for free to review, but when I received it I noticed that it is not what they advertise. After I contacted them and realized they KNOW they mislead their customers, I felt it is my duty to warn you guys from buying it - because it looks really good - ON PAPER.

Too late) i’ve just received this watch and.. what to say.. thankfully I’ve bought it for just 26$. That’s I think a fair price for it. The date adjuster works unreliable sometimes slips the rotation as if there are some cogs are missing on gear. Maybe it’s a factory fault or maybe someone else had tempered with them before.

Very strange... I bought this watch (and also in green) and I paid far less than $65 - and it wasn't falsly advertised as you described. For the money I paid, it's a really great watch, and beautifully finished. I don't care a monkeys whether it's 60, 120 or clicks like a train going over signal points, and who the heck does, apart from nerdy people who spend their day counting clicks? I bet the great majority of people who buy a dive watch with a bezel don't even know what it's for, let alone actually ever use it! But most importantly, it keeps such good time that I bought 2 more. Maybe Lige had language problems, or have long since updated their specs, but I certainly don't have any issues whatsoever with Lige, or their watches. I recommend them as being excellent value for money and they work perfectly. That said, if they do break, then so what? They're so cheap as to be almost disposable, although I'm not in favour of "throwaway products." Regards from 🇬🇧

In China it is all about the looks of a product, not always about promised quality. It happend to me too. I bought a Holuns brand, very popular quartz Tachometer watch , with a beautiful blue dial, Sapphire crystal , a Japanese movement and 50mtr. Water resistance. When I opened it up to align the small watch hands, that were a little off, I found a very low quality Chinese Sunon quartz movement inside, not the advertised Japanese movement. It took all the joy I had receiving this watch. I felt very bad about their betrayal. I was so mad I wanted to toss it in the bin. I did not even care about the lost money, I was just mad about their dishonesty. Now I very much doubt the rest of the specs. too.

Own this one. Been wearing off and on for entire summer. Its been in saltwater, banged working on engines. Keeps good time and still looks great! No scratches on crystal, no corrosion of metal. Only complaint is the clasp is not real strong.

I brought one for 25 usd it has a 28800 bph movement +2 seconds a day these things aren't the be best :- doesn't have a manual wind, unscrewing the crown changes the date very light action, slight backplay in bezel light action and clasp is not great. It is much better than I expected for the price very happy with purchase

Looking at all the positive reviews on the product page, non of them mention that it doesn't have an nh35 or sapphire crystal, it seems as if they are bought reviews. So I guess this method works for them most of the time....

I just ordered a $20.29 Lige quartz LG10045 Submariner in stainless/black. I figure I can handle the $21 hit if it sucks, and I'll just have Ali Express reimburse me ifit comes damaged in any way. I will be making a video of the unboxing and my 1st impressions. Often, with these sub brand Chinese watches, they do pretty well for the money. I own a bunch of them, and some are truly amazing. I have a 2006 Louis Bolle Solstice 18K that is truly an amazing Chinese dress watch. It has a 33 jewel complication with an amazing dial and open heart design. It looks and runs like the day I got it.

Love this one, laughed so hard at the below. Reviewer - Points out fake claims Lige - "Can you just make a video?" Reviewer - ".....Well here it is!" I had a similar thing where a Didun design watch said Miyota movement and it was actually a DG2830. Turns out it actually said "Miyoda" movement, which is made up.

Hi Aviv and anyone out there reading this. I just purchased and received this watch from Aliexpress through the official Lige watch store very recently. I had ordered it (based on the latest updated description on Aliexpress site) before seeing your KZfaq contribution on this homage submariner watch. However, I was able to get it for £42.26 UK and it arrived in just 10 days. Now, had I seen your video beforehand, not sure but I may have verywell not made my purchase. Most certainly would not have done at the price you had to pay and many thanks for pointing out Lige Design's misleading description. Although not everything in their updated description is 100% correct, I am highly delighted with the watch. It looks and feels every bit of the money I paid. I have no intention of getting this watch anywhere near H2O so I feel that this item will be useful to me for hopefully more than 24 months. I'm not a collector of watches, I only buy when the one I currently use packs up as it is nearly always not worth the cost of repairing. Things I like: Good looks Good weight 28800 bph movement (their are KZfaq contributions describing this particular movement and although there are no reliability reports as to long term usage, I'm willing to give it a go for the price I paid). Nicely brushed strap (although not keen on butterfly clasps, again for the money, I'm not going to complain). Not liking: Standard glass Butterfly clasp No micro adjustment for the strap Conclusion: Now Lige Design have adjusted the price albeit some items have been downgraded I.e. the clasp, the glass and the movement, I feel that this watch fits perfectly into the price v features bracket. I like it (so far) and would probably by another in a different colour soon. Good work. These things really do need calling out to protect consumers.

Great that you pointed the error of their ways, but I don’t know if it’s intentional fraud. I think a lot of Chinese vendors copy and paste English text from one another’s watch descriptions. Their grasp of English might be minimal . How many other Chinese vendors do we see where the descriptions need to be interpreted as the don’t use the correct terminology. As you say, not a bad looking watch at the price but if it’s translation at fault they need to improve in order to compete in that market niche and prevent misleading customers. I have one of their quartz chronographs, $25 from Amazon, and I really like it. I'm pretty disappointed that they would have lied about their submariner specs tho, just be honest about it being a seagull with mineral crystal

I ordered a Lige, and it came in a different watch. It was supposed to be an automatic and came in a quartz. The quality was garbage and I should have known by the price, it was to good to be true. It didn't even look like the watch I ordered. Never again. It was the last watch I have ordered from Alie Express

That was pretty bold of them, I must say and good job for staying true to your followers, Aviv! I have had some watches claim to be sapphire but they test as mineral glass so idk if they try to get by saying there is a “sapphire coating”? Either way, thanks for the heads up man! 😎👍

These guys really had some nerve. I mean mineral isn't the end of the world and the movement at least looks good (maybe a Mingzhu clone of a Seiko? Would need some investigation), but they would have to sell that for maybe 40-50 USD to be competitive. I wonder how it would do in a pressure test. Would it explode at 3 bars? :-D

It could be a perfectly fine watch for 40-50 USD if they were only HONEST about it. The movement in it is a Chinese high beat automatic - not something they should hide or be ashamed of...

@@MyAffordableWatchCollection Yeah, of course, honesty is a requirement. If they use the same high beat movement as Starking... Those offer mixed results, just recently had one which ran 5 minutes slow out of factory. Update: I managed to somewhat regulate that movment. Also, it's a Miyota-clone, and high beat. Quality won't be as good as the original Miyota though and it has the same rotor spin.

Very very good review at first I was skeptical about the review! Because I own The Lige, it is red and black and color and I’ve had it for over a year and it works flawlessly. However, I agree that if it is not what it says it is, you shouldn’t be advertising it as that. however the watch I have does work very well. It is a watch I wear on a daily basis and is held up excellently. I also paid like $30 for the watch not 65.

I have one of LIGE dress watches and it is working well but finishing are veery bad.. I don't recommend buying LIGE watches because there are more better watches for that amount of money. Thanks Aviv for good videos as always

Bless you brother. Usually one purchases a watch according to what it offers and if doesn't offer what it claims to offer is breach of contract as per law of contract. If it wasn't for your honest review I was about to purchased the watch.

Your 100% correct, most watches out there are either a fake (even the dial) or a scam! Of course it is a *good idea to **_Google them first_** AKA research!* As their _"so called reviews"_ are AI generated or they wrote the _"reviews"_ them selves!Also most _"Cheap"_ watches sometimes have a high price *$100+* made cheaply, and only last a year or so! Just like garments, say $1,000 garment it true value may be $10

Brilliant, well done. There are tongue in cheek lies and then there are serious lies like this. My personal bugbear is the Pagani Speedmaster. Its a nice watch but their renders do not show the dial you receive. They dont lie about anything though so its not as serious as this.

No, they don't. They don't do THIS. They don't lie to their customers about the specs of their watches. If Rolex says their watch has saphire crystal, that that watch does have saphire crystal. If they say it is platinum, it is platinum. And so on. So, no, they don't do this - they don't lie. And by the way, I don't really like Rolex watches (I like Rolex homages even less), but hey don't do this.

@@lowersaxon Research shows that 40% of US households cannot put together 400$ in case of emergency. And the US citizens are one of the richest in the world. Only 50 million people on the planet are considered to be millionaires. Meaning having assets worth $1million or more, not having $1 million cash on hand. Those are the people considered Rolex market. 50 million people is only 0.055% of the world's population. And he says "$10.000 isn't that much money". And he also doesn't think it relevant to describe what "the worldS best watches" actually means.

My Lige 6801 "Smurf" arrived yeterday. Initial thoughts. Looks beautiful. Sunburst dial is very classy. Fully operational. Cyclops is correctly aligned. A ridiculous amount of watch for £20. Pretty much the same quality (IMO)/looks almost identical to my Steeldive SD1953 for 30% of the price. In comparison to the Steeldive. Hardlex not Sapphire (Assumed. Not tested). 90 click vs 120 click bezel. Bezel action is lighter but has zero back play. Butterfly clasp bracelet vs double pusher with safety. 28,800 bph vs 21,600. Exhibition case back vs solid. 100m water resistance vs 300m (theoretical in both cases, I suspect..). Lumed pip rather than complete bezel. Not sure if I like the Butterfly Clasp. It works OK but is a bit more fiddly to put on. I shall persevere for now but have a replacement bracelet if needed. 3 links removed from bracelet for a perfect fit. Crown action is smooth. Bit wary of over winding this 'el cheapo' Chinese movement. Only one odd QC issue - and it's manufacturing, rather than assembly. Bezel either aligns perfectly at 12 but not at 3, 6 & 9 or vice versa. I'll use 12. Less obvious to my OCD.. Tiny bit of lateral movement can be felt in bezel but not seen. So, my £20 watch experiment is underway. I'm thinking of starting a sweepstake on how long it will be before the movement implodes... 😁 Timegrapher shows +12s/day and Zero Beat Rate Error. I can live with that but may use this as a testbed for home regulation. Overall: Well worth the money. Time will tell (no pun) regarding longevity

I just received a Steeldive bronze SD1940 a few days ago from AliExpress. It's advertised as CUSN8 bronze, but I suspect it could be Aluminum Bronze instead. Overall I like it and will keep it. I don't know enough about it to be sure, but something isn't right. Here's what I found: I tried to force a dark patina using a freshly hard boiled egg in a plastic bag. It didn't darken as expected but instead turned a light, aluminum-like color with a hint of orangey bronze. At first I thought it was some kind of cheap plating that melted off, but no, it's solid metal that changed to a very light color. I found pictures of other aluminum bronze watches and they do form a darker patina eventually so I'm hoping that's what I get. But I think it's a different alloy that what they advertise, and that's pretty important for a bronze watch.

I don't know much about bronze alloys so I can't really help with that. From what I do know, Steeldive is a reliable brand.

Thank you Aviv. I bought a Benyar "Explorer" which hadn't been calibrated. I really struggled to take the back off it. So much so that I scratched the case. Under the shiny metal was an alloy looking somewhat like brass. They claim it is all 316 stainless steel. It isn't. I wrote off the loss because it was too much trouble to get a refund despite photographs. They know what they are doing. What surprised me was Guanqin, who have made some really good watches. A truly inexpensive Longines homage, I went to flick some dust off the back case and realised that it was corrosion. Again it's advertised as 316L stainless steel. The watch was less than 20GBP so there was no need to lie in the description. I have one with an NH36A movement and there is no fault with it. It has a 12 sided bezel, is an extremely attractive dress watch and definitely a sapphire crystal. So Guanqin (or Guangines) watches are excellent but watch out at the lower end of the price range on claims about materials. (The new Hydroconquest looks good). Thank you for the information. 👍

Some of these Chinese brands copy and paste watch specs from different places. It's hart to tell what's real and what's not, so watching/reading reviews is probably the best way to go.

I own the quartz two-tone (silver-gold) of the watch in the video. I bought it only a month ago, and I had no idea about the NH-35 controversy at the time. I actually really like Lige. Even more so Curren, which is their sub brand. Curren watches are very unique, and for whatever reason, in my experience, they're just as accurate as Casios. Considering the automatic Lige Submariner is $45, and the quartz one I have was only $25, I just can't bring myself to be mad. While I don't condone lying to customers, you're getting a fairly accurate, real automatic watch (even if they misnamed the movement) for $15 less than the cost of a quartz MDV106. Also, in all fairness, I looked it up, and apparently "Lige" translates to "liar," so they're just living up to their name. X-D

I mean, it seems like a DG 2813 movement and not a seagull 1612. The movement does seem to have reliability issues from what I've read. I guess it may have a better bracelet than the Loreo. Also seems like a ceramic insert. Should be an alternative to a Loreo I guess... But you should check out Bliger, Parnis, Guanqin, Cadisen and Steeldive for their homages. They operate around the same price but with better specs

Just saw this video and checked their listing. They're now making other wild claims that are not true. That it's a Tourbillion from Switzerland and several other claims. That are also using someone else's Rolex AD office as their address, using fake US Patent & Trademark papers and a myriad of other things. Seems they are tied to that company "Shenzhen Quyue Life Technology Co., Ltd." who got in trouble for posing as the actual San Martin Watches.

Qualitywise Lige is on the same low level as brands like Yolako and Poedagar. Pay a few extra dollars and buy a Cadisen or Pagani. Those are reliable watches with Miyota 8215 and Seiko NH 35 movements. Despite that I may buy a Lige just out of curiosity.

Thank you for the video. I have thought about this brand, but I have stuck to a few tried and true off of AliExpress (Steeldive, Heimdallr, Addies) as these at least tell you what you will get and actually give it to you. I will avoid Lige like the plague in the future.

This is stupid. This might kick them out of Ali Express. Ton of people will starts disputes, and after 50 people do that, I am not sure that Ali Express would allow them to scam their customers. Lige makes cheap watches in the 20-40 USD range. It is very unusual to see a 60-70 USD dollars Lige watch. Somebody overthere decided to get stupid, watching how Pagani Design sells thousands Submariner homages, as now do the other Chinese brands, too, on Ali Express (all of them now sell Submariner homages) and wanted a piece of the pie at all cost.

I have encountered 1 watch that did not meet the advertising description. But the only mistake or the only difference between the actual watch and its advertisement is being luminous. the advertisement says it is luminous but as I received and checked it, it was not.

Thank god guys like Aviv and others like ILW and Jody at Just One More Watch tell it how it is. Always wondered about the Lige brand, now we all know. It seems very stupid that they make these claims about the watch, then send you something completely different. Maybe they will claim it’s a fake, even though as you say, they sent you the watch. Let’s hope you don’t get hassle from KZfaq like ILW......keep up the good work.

I have it and is a good watch ..But the bracelet is not a good one compared to similar brands at similar price., makes noise and has sharped edges. Still the watch is great.

Had the same problems and are not happy with it at all, even for a price of only 30€! This is a Chinese clockwork with 28.800 s/d, but it is very reliable! No Saphir glas is correct! 👍🏼👍🏼😉😘

Honestly it's pretty ridiculous they thought they would be able to sell this off as a sapphire cover for 70 bucks and lie about the movement. When it's too good to be true it probably is lol. Sapphires a very expensive mineral which is why you don't see it on super budget watches

All this complaining about the movement... if you check the pictures in the listing on Aliexpress, it is quite clear that the movement is not an NH35. Anyway the 4813 movement in mine keeps better time than any of my NH35 watches... I did not expect to like this watch that much but I haven't taken it off for three weeks now. Just to be clear, I'm not affiliated of linked to Aliexpress or Lige in any way, unlike some KZfaqrs here...
