One of Darrin's (Dick York) clients (Steve Franken) has hired a private detective to keep an eye on Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery), so she uses a little magic to scare him off!
From Season 2 Episode 30 'Follow That Witch: Part 1' - A detective one of Darrin's client's employees hires discovers that Samantha is a witch. His employer thinks that he is crazy so he decides to blackmail Samantha.

This dude was pretty bold. He knew she was a witch and still tried to blackmail her. She even turned him into a bird and he *still* decided to mess with her. Better to have just left him a bird.

This was a 2 parter when it first aired. Samantha did finally get rid of Charlie Leech by zapping him to Mexico. He vowed that Samantha wouldn’t see the last of him. Apparently she did, coz there was never a storyline stating of his return.

Actually, he came back four episodes later in "The Catnapper." But once again, after being outsmarted by Samantha, the episode ended with him declaring that she hadn't seen the last of him. This time, though, WAS the last time anyone heard from Charlie Leech.

The actor that played the private investigator is in an episode of wagon train with Betty Davis. He was very good in that one especially.

i don’t think i saw that one? My own fault. Odd bc i actually adored John McIntyre (& his equally awesome wife Jeanette Nolan) BUT i was always just _head over heels_ about Ward Bond so i usually only peruse like the first three seasons. Well i’m old now time to expand my horizons! When i see the entire series of Wagon Train i will have to come across the episode that you speak of. Very much hope so🤞🏻i’ve always been crazy for Bette Davis! lol just watched recently - she was being all _Bette-like_ on an episode of the Virginian - absolutely BRILLIANT - only Ms Davis can do *BETTE!* 🤟🏻💕
