I feel like no one talks about how Nicki may have influence a lot of pop fans to start listening to rap. When Drake and Nicki came out they were dropping raps / pop songs and we’re getting a lot of radio. While a lot of people didn’t like it at the the time and called it not real rap it really put rap back to mainstream after the 90’s there really wasn’t much till 2010’s. Now the #1 is rap and you see all these people tryna be rappers.

Not to mention labels offering artists money to take shots at Nicki and spreading false info about her. Despite all of this she still manages to stay on top as a part of the holy trinity. They tried to turn the media against Nicki like they did with MJ and Brittany but she came back swinging. She’s dominating in a male dominated industry, and a highly competitive genre (rap). Bey has managed to stay out of all controversy long enough to maintain her status for 25 years now and Rih is a musical power house. She did her thing then dipped with Fenty. I think she dropped like 9 albums and they got progressively better. Queen tingz 👑

That last point is exactly why I don’t think Rihanna will release an album. It’s been such a long time since her last album that everyone is going to have such high expectations and dare I say unrealistic ones. The wait has been dragged on for so long that it would be nearly impossible for Rihanna to please everyone so it would be safer to just to stick to her business or even just feature on a song (possibly release a single)

I grew up on Hip Hop. When the Sugar Hill Gang had their first rap song. Hip hop had so many females at one point and then it died off. Nicki DID revive female rap. The difference between before her and after her is that the women who came before her weren't sexualized and were focused on the art of rap. After Nicki there's been an influx but the issue is that most of them are just selling sex and its boring. Nicki has sold sex but the way she does it is pure lyricism. Most of these girls don't have that. They don't even care about that in my opinion. The ones who have true lyricism aren't mainstream. If you're looking for actual lyricism there's women rappers out there but unfortunately these oversexualized girls are the ones in the forefront. I find that to be sad. And beefs used to be put into the MUSIC not on social media. But anyway I definitely liked this video.
