I think it's rather giving the community and the "House" component of House and Voguing the respect it deserves. Your House was your home because so many were disowned from their families. You actually can't separate these histories, that deadly epidemic meant that the community needed each other more than ever and they really stepped up for each other like a family. And simultaneously, they needed the joy, pride, dignity and community to be able to emerge from the grief. That's one of the things that came out of it, this beautiful ballroom culture.

You can't talk about the history of voguing without mentioning that moment in time- and he didn't give that much airtime, a mention, then moved on.
