Nightmare is a fictional supervillain that appeared in the American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Strange Tales #110 and was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The character is depicted most commonly as a major enemy of Doctor Strange and Ghost Rider.

Welcome to marvel comics. I've been saying this non stop, they literally ignore years of cosmic history. They keep adding new cosmic powers, new cosmic locations that doesn't make sense, and ignore the other cosmic being while doing all that. It's so bad. Everyone basically can beat anyone at this point thanks to these terrible new age writers.

I still want to see a Dr strange horror film with nightmare as the villain. I know Scott was planning on doing nightmare as a villain for this one. While watching multiverse of madness, I could not help but feel like the original plot was a much better film before the rewrites.

Okay theory: the dark variant we see in the trailer is actually a version of strange who was turned into a version of Nightmare. This would explain why he targets our Dr. Strange since he’s actually a variant and therefore his way into the mcu. The scenes we see with him could be Dr. Strange entering his dream dimension.

Doubt we see Nightmare in MCU, as they tend to avoid characters deemed "Too Powerful for the MCU", as Nightmare appears to be based on this video. If he does show up, he'd be nerfed significantly

M.O.M has a post credit where strange wakes up from a dream, Wong rushes in asking what’s wrong. Strange says nothing it’s just a nightmare, then it cuts to Nightmare in his dimension laughing manically.

If he does show up in Dr. Strange, he can't be a one and done character. That movie is already stacked as it is, so I very much doubt he'd be the main villain.

@@thegingermessiah5318 The CW network didn’t have the publish/tv rights for a certain few characters in Batman’s rogues gallery. Most notably in Season 3 when the brilliant crime lord who had been terrorizing Jim Gordon from the shadows for two seasons was dramatically revealed to be the one and only Asphalt Crumplepan AKA The Pigeon. Hell…I don’t even want to mention “The Mime Monarch of Mischief” aka THE HUMORIST & the MULTIPLE exhaustive scenes of “intense” charades/interpretative dance-offs between him and Batman/Jim Gordon/Mildred the Maid. I mean hats off to the choreographers and props to the show runners to have the courage and creativity to do something different when having to adapt to legal rights issues out of their control but it was all just a little too bizarre for me.

I can see Nightmare appearing for exposition at the start of the film. Strange approaches him for explanation about the nightmares, to which Nightmare has nothing to do with.

While the theories of him being in Doctor Strange 2 would make sense at this point I'm not sure if it would actually end up occurring. That is a lot of characters to introduce and develop with everything else we have seen in the trailers. Adding in another villain on top of everything we have seen would make the movie possibly feel a bit bloated

I think the gargantos switch is so shuma-gorath can be taken out easily without him being nerfed all to hell. They just made him look like that because the design is immediately more recognizable than his actual look. Its shuma-gorath for clicks but technically without nerfing the character.

That’s a continuity error made by Duggen Nightmare doesn’t operate in the psychic plane and thereby Jean can’t do anything to him Duggen thinks that Nightmare operates in the psychic plane and that’s why he did what he did
