cgarciahfcu there are literally tens of thousands of characters in the DC and Marvel universes combined. There are likely less than 100 or so characters around this level of power depending on how you are counting. It is but a very small sliver of either universe that occupies this tier of power. Even within that group, there are levels of power. For example, Superman, Darkseid & Lucifer would all be considered omega level or beyond and yet they are not on equal footing in terms of ability. And DC and Marvel are far from the only universes that have loads of extremely powerful characters.

He is and has always been a beacon of moral fortitude and hope. That's really the entire point of his character. Within the context of the DC universe, he is unique in that regard. If you ask pretty much anyone who reads his stories, all of his best comics are mostly about philosophical questions or studies of character, not him exchanging punches with Darkseid or whoever.

Terry Price When Superman was created in the 1933 he was super powerful compared to everyone else hense being called "super"man. It takes away the wonder of him when 100 others are super too. I'd be okay with just a few others; that'll make every encounter they have with superman even that more thrilling. But the more people that are omega and beyond just means that power level becomes less special, less unique.

When you're afraid(yellow) it takes willpower to overcome it, when you're hopeful(blue) it takes willpower to act upon that hope. That's why the farther you are from the center of the emotional spectrum(Green Will), the more your emotion controls you. Like Red Rage, the farthest to the left become uncontrollable berserkers, a slave to rage and the farthest to the right which is Violet Love turns its' users into love-crazed maniacs. Willpower is control of your self and therefore your emotions, that's why alot of people don't like the Oan Guardians, they're too CONTROLLING.

Superman does a whole lotta shit with this ring, including the decimation of the green lanterns, and gains the fear from the entire population of earth, but he decides to GIVE UP the ring, wielding his own power, instead of relying on a ring, and to some extent, sinestro.
