Throughout the G-6's life there were many small incremental upgrades. Such as MW-50 for the DB-605A engine and the use of the Erla Haube canopy (better view) along with other minor chances. The designation 'Late' simply means this G-6 has all of these changes, not just some... and yes, the Methanol-Water (MW-50) injection did make it faster!!!
