Hi, please take this as constructive criticism. I feel this video has no substance. You point out the design of the tire, which anyone can see from looking at photos, and a few points about each of them. However, there was no real comparison of the two. For example, It would be good to get into the tread design and compare them to one another, explaining why one would perform better than the other in a given condition ie. Snow, mud, sand, gravel, dry. This isn't the first time I have felt this way. Many of your videos felt very surfacy. No doubt you guys have a tonne of knowledge but I would love to see that passed on in a more technical and detailed manner. Doing performing tests with each tire and providing footage of said tests, would be massive.

I had both. I'll be putting Wildpeak AT3W on my trucks/suvs from now on. The KO2 slipped in the rain like crazy. The AT3W is quieter, grippier, and doesn't slip in the rain.

Went from Wildpeaks to KO2s because I put a lift on my Jeep and found a really good deal on used tires of a larger size. I liked the WildPeaks better. Next tire set will be Duratracs, as they seem to be even better for offroading. I agree though, I have a rear-auto locker and if it rains the KO2s like to chirp like crazy, never had that issue with the Wildpeak and the locker.

@@OggaDugga once they are at about 50% they do get somewhat slick. Had my chevy 1500 tail end randomly swing out in light rain taking a pretty easy curve going 40mph. I got my Falken Durtrec AT pretty much the same time as the atw3, for half of what the BFG cost. Better grip on slick mud also

I've had the BFG's on my ram 1500 ecodiesel since 2018 and now have 46,000 miles on them. I live in Norcal and take trips to tahoe and oregon for skiing and summer camping but 80% is highway driving. I haven't rotated them as much as i probably should but i can say that the back two tires are now basically slicks. I guess i don't wash my truck enough either to notice but it scared me how much snow i drove on last winter with these in this condition. I know i'm near the range of an average 50K warranty on these but that two of them are so bald tells me they were probably kicked about 5K ago. Not really that great in MY opinion. I'm not a race car driver and if you've tried to do a burnout in an ecodiesel, it's not happening unless you really try. I'm going for the Wildpeaks. Hopefully they last a bit longer.

I have the KO2s on my lifted 2012 Yukon XL. I use it for deer, moose and bear hunting every year and they are awesome tires. Several of my buddies get stone punctures each year and i have not. My buddies are all slowly switching to KO2s as they seem to be the best tiers for actual hard coditions like sharp blasted rocks hidden in the mud and snow. I also tow and load them up with big weight, with no floating or handling issues. My wife sometimes daily drives around town in bad weather throughout the year and they are quiet with excellent wear. Very happy with them.

KO's are holding up great taken them to Pismo beach CA and Borrego Springs CA. Never driven KO's in snow or rain, they do great in sand and rock. My wife drives a 2015 4Runner been throught 2 sets of KO2's had two flats one nail and one railroad spike. I drive a 2017 Sequoia and put KO2's on it, love the look of the KO2's all sets have lasted over 50k. The only real off roading I do is fire roads and dirt. I own a Gen 1 Hennessey Raptor and had the KO2 tires. I went with AT3W Falken tires to try out and absolutely love them! These Falken tires have much more cornering grip on dry and wet pavement, my speeds through the turns are much faster on Blacktop and dirt roads. The very weekend I put these tires on my Raptor we had a pretty good blizzard in Colorado, I absolutely took it for a proper test drive up in the Rocky Mountains for around 3 hours, absolutely Blown Away by their performance in the fresh snow, hard pack, and ice. I've had these Falken tires about 2 and 1/2 years with almost 55,000 miles on them right now, and they still look pretty good! Also on acceleration these tires hook up much better on Blacktop with less tire spin. There are other tires I would like to try but with how good these have been I'm not sure I want to try another brand.

@@johnkaper1129 these tires have many miles up in the Rocky Mountains on loose dirt roads, they are much better than the bfg ever did for me. In the dirt playing around, they have much more side bite and overall traction. I'll will not be buying bfg again considering how well these Falken tires have done for me, not even if they offered 1/2 pricing on the bfg. @@jmar3011, yes, Duratracs grip way better in mud, wet grass or deep snow, but they suck on wet or snowy asphalt, they are pita to balance, and what bothers me most, they are prone to puncture sidewalls, have has all 4 tires ripped off and punctured many times. I had the Duratracs on my XJ for two miserable years. They were slightly better in the mud than KO2s, about the same in snow, much louder on the highway, less comfortable, ripped open the sidewall once and could absolutely never get them to balance properly. The balancing part was my biggest complaint since the XJ is fairly light, they would literally shake the whole vehicle. I've gone to the KO2 now and the only real complaint I have is mud traction. Other than that they are superior in every way *for my XJ.

Just spent 3 weeks abusing my KO2s. High speeds on the highways for 10 hrs at a time for over 4600 miles carrying my heavy rig in comfort and quiet. I ran my 04 Yukon XL up a mine road made of blasted rock and the KO2s were superb. Great traction and shifted direction on the blast rock like I was on pavement. Did trails in Moab, and high altitude mining “roads” in Ouray and they never gave me issues. They Run super quiet and get the job done no matter the surface. They do cake up on thick mud, but still had enough grip to get my heavy rig out of trouble. I’ll buy these til they stop making them.

Same. 3 years doing burnouts, ripping slides in my truck and running at 37-40 psi most of their life and still never a puncture or a leak. Mine are just balding now, but even the same as just when it snowed awhile ago, I plowed through 5-10" of snow for fun and made it out easily. Pros and cons for both of these. Only thing I can point out about K02s, not as grippy in the rain (not that it's a problem for me). That's about it. Revolutionary tire. Some used Wildpeaks I'm just trying out soon, which is cool and all. I'm just awaiting another set of K02s in a different size.

My 3 year old K02s being bald from burnouts and ripping slides and also off-roading have never had a puncture or a leak on my stock wheels. Drove on them over 30,000 miles. Epic tire in literally everything. Except ice or rain. Rain is fine if you ain't trying to play. It's just time for something with more tread than what I got is all. Wildpeak seems to have very few complaints and most people happy with them. I'm trying a used set, but no denying the indestructibility of the almighty K02. I worked at 2 tire shops already, over 2 years of being a tire tech and sometimes when customers come in with BFG K0 tires, they're over 10 years old and haven't hit the lowest tread. They just have some siping is all and people still roll on it.

Mud, snow, ice, loose dirt/gravel, road and wear, it's like a car tire, it's the quietest tire I've never heard lol, treadwear, etc... I like to try diff and new things so every time I buy tires it's almost a diff company but I stick to all/ terrains.. when mine wear out, I'll be getting another set of the falken wildpeak at3w for sure.. best tire I've ever had on my truck.. they look really good too when clean and wet..

You guys are confusing side wall and tread plies. BFG’s have 2-ply sidewall in load range C, and 3-ply in D & E. Wildpeak’s have a 2-ply sidewall. Also, the KO2 doesn’t feature the 3PMS and mileage rating in the same tire. Up until late 2020, you could either get the DT version in some sizes with a mileage warranty (but without the snow flake rating), or the 3PMS rated version, which doesn’t have a mileage rating. Recently I was able to confirm with BFG that all the KO2’s have both the mileage warranty and snowflake rating.

My personal experience experience with both tires on my Tundra is that the BFGs seemed to last about 3K longer before needing replacement. Not sure where they bought the tires and found the Falkens to be more expensive but personally I have always found the Falkens to be significantly cheaper than the BFGs. And as far as performance, the Falkens are far superior to the BFGs on hardpack snow and ice over the course of two winters and two different vehicles. He didn't mention the silica content of the tires but anyone who lives in snowcountry understands the value of a high silica based rubber compound in the winter. Unfortunately high silica based tires do wear faster on dry pavement hence why the BFGs lasted a bit longer. Also put the Falkens on our 4Runner because of cost and increased winter performance. Just my experience but seems like you pay a premium just for the BFG label. Hope that helps!

I had this happen on a set of 265/75 16 tires. Got hard and slick in wet conditions. Tires where 8yrs old with 55k miles though. They started wearing like iron once that kicked in. But were dangerous on wet roads. Meanwhile a set of 31x10.50s the same age with about 44k miles wore down to balds and were still great on wet roads. Even though that is how that one tire ended they performed consistently. One thing I will say about the BFG is that traction is predictable. I find that has value. They also provided great feedback which I also find valuable. I replaced with wildpeak. I was not impressed with the road noise. Gas mileage in the same tire took a 1.5mpg hit. And to me the wet weather traction was trash in comparison to the bfg. Until the one got hard and plasticky that is. Snow seems to be similar. Mud idk.

I've been running Wildpeak AT3W's on my 2015 Ford F150 FX4 for about 70k miles now and they still have decent tread left. Crazy! And I have a lead foot! Ha! Of course I rotated them religiously every 5k miles for a long time, until this covid-19 crap threw everything out of whack. Speaking of which, I'm going to get them rotated tomorrow. I'm happy with their performance overall and they look great. They're pretty good in the snow and road noise isn't bad at all, but I've never been very impressed with them in the rain. I commute 100 miles on the highway every day, got over 150k on the odometer already! Everybody swears by their rain performance, but my issue is that they spin out too easily when I'm trying to accelerate. It's so bad that I drive in 4WD a lot when it's wet out, even when they were brand new. I wonder if anyone else has this problem. I don't think it would be so bad if I had a V8, but I'm rocking the 2.7L Ecoboost with lower gearing (FX4) and this thing has a ton of low end torgue! I call my truck "Jack rabbit!" Ha! There probably isn't an AT tire on the market that can compensate for that. That's my theory anyway! lol! I have the falken wildpeaks on my Jeep and bfg ko on my ranger and both are excellent honestly. That being said the falkens are way better in the rain quieter on the road and they do well in the snow however the bfgs I’ve found are slightly better in the snow and do better in the mud. As far as tire life goes I have about 40,000 on the falkens and they are holding up well no cracking they are a little noisy due to being chopped up because the fronts are out of balance no fault of the tires I hit a huge pothole and knocked off the weights. The bfgs also wear pretty even although they have a little cupping on the outside edges mostly from the twin I beam suspension on the ranger. The bfgs also have close to 40,000 miles with no cracking or anything .It should be noted both vehicles are set up pretty close to the same both lifted 3 inches both limited slip rear and open front diffs. I would say if you drive on the street with occasional off-road use definitely go with the falkens but if you are about even on use or do more off-road than on road then the bfgs would be my choice

Wildpeaks. Had these on my truck for a while now. I tow a 5,000 lb trailer daily. Can't believe how long they've lasted. Just bought some for my van.
