Is this new adapter so there isn't any rattling heard from the knob? I've heard and seen cases where the knob is tight but there'll be a rattling from what seems like loose figment underneath the boot below the knob itself

Is this adapter standard now for VW DSG? As the previous version had reviews about coming loose which put me off a bit. This adapter looks a lot more sturdy.

The V2 adapter is now standard with the DSG knob.

Hi the bottom clamp is not tight enough for the mk6 it can not be tightened down enough to be snug

Is it supposed to twist when you turn the knob in your hand

No, you can tighten the top screw underneath the coin to prevent that from happening

Yes, the current GSB knob will ship with the clamp style adapter.

If i install this and for some reason i want to go back to stock knob will i be able to ?

Yes, it is reversible, as long as you take care not to destroy your stock knob :)

Trouble is, the goddamned OEM nylon loop breaks after a few years of use (lifting the knob up and down), and you have to replace the *entire* shifter stick. >:-( It should be made out of metal instead of plastic. Mine just broke after 6 years of gentle use.

Not sure if that has anything to do with the Bfi shifter. The nylon loop has been known to break with the stock button press shift knob as well. I do agree that vw should have made that part stronger (and interchangeable)
