Both the brothers got 8.0 bands in IELTS exam and in the reading part, I received 9.0 and Kiki got 8.5. We decided to document our experiences of the reading section and IELTS in generals which can surely get you a 9er too.

I got a 9 too, and I'll share a few things which worked for me. 1. Practice reading fast, often. It soon becomes second nature 2. In the test, read the passage once quickly without getting bogged down in detail. 3. Attempt the questions now that you know where the topic was 4. Beware of Not Given questions.

I think everyone have different things working for them. I got 9.0 in reading too (Overall 8.0) and I would suggest reading the question first, then reading the passage roughly (but make sure you focus on what you are reading in general) with the question in the back of your mind. This way I could quickly find what I was looking for without wasting time reading the whole passage in detail. It should be easier if you are used to reading books.

Hi. That was a pretty honest video by you. I also got 9.0 in reading and listening on first attempt (overall 8.5) without coaching. But but but, you don’t rephrase answers in IELTS exam. We have to put answers on paper in the same format as they appear in the text (or are heard in the recording for listening). The tests by Cambridge are always designed such that there is no need to rephrase. You might have to drop some irrelevant terms. For example, if text says ‘a collective agreement’ but word limit is two words, we will just write ‘collective agreement’ and drop the article ‘a’.

To be honest i think trying to relax is the key. Don't be tooo stressed. And be careful with the speed reading thing, one word can change the meaning of the whole sentence, if you miss it, it can reflect on your answers.

It would be better to mark paragraphs actual question numbers instead of using different symbols. Symbol may confuse the candidate, especially when in hurry. I have developed it this way (e.g. if I find an answer to question 1 in paragraph 1, I would write 1 beside that paragraph for future reference)

u write the answer true when the information in the text is the same as is given in the question.,write false when the full meaning of the statement in question is exactly the opposite of information or sentence in the passage. Even when 30% of a statement is not given in the statement in question with respect to information in the passage, the answer is Not given, even if the rest appears to be True or False with the rest 70%.
