Pundi recipe | ಕುಚ್ಚಿಲಕ್ಕಿ ಉಂಡೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಂಪು ಚಟ್ನಿ | Kuchilakki unde | kempu chutni recipe | pundi
Mangalore special breakfast recipe "Pundi" or rice ball is presented in today's video. This is a simple and less ingredient recipe. This can be prepared by using either Raw rice or boiled rice or by adding both equally. Serve hot Pundi with red chutney or sambar. Chutney recipe also included in the same video.
Ingredients:
For rice balls:
Brown rice 4cup
Grated coconut 1/2cup
Salt to taste
Coconut oil 4sp
Water
For chutny:
Grated coconut 1cup
Dry red chilli 1&1/2
Salt to taste
Tamarind small piece
Water
For tempering :
Dry red chilli 1
Mustard seed 1/2sp
Coconut oil 1sp
Curry leaves

This is exactly how we make it in palakkad( kerala). My mom also add a bit of cumin seed. The steamed smell of the dumplings fills the air. Lot of memories just came back. Beautiful video- as always.
