After 60 years crocheting I wanted to try something different. At the time I did not knit, but did like the look of knitting. I tried the Knook, but I didn't really care for it. I think Tunisian crochet is easier. I sat down with a large cone of cotton yarn and practiced all the tunisian stitch tutorials and made really nice dish cloths for practice. I think learning this new skill motivated me in finally learning how to knit. Of course this all led down the rabbit hole and I picked up prepping, spinning and dyeing my own wool for projects. It is never too late in life to learn something new.

I've been crocheting for years, but after seeing Tunisian crochet stitch work, I had to try it because I love the way it looks! Like you, I'm also hooked on it. Some of the stitches look very much like knitting, but it really has it's own unique look. It's much faster than knitting as well, and if you already crochet, learning Tunisian crochet will be easy peasy. I really enjoyed your video. Thanks ever so much!...🤗🤗👍👍👍

I like Tunisian for all the reasons you said. I struggle at knitting and crochet was taught to me young. What I found is that you can use knitting patterns to make the same projects. There are a few things to take in account. Like on charts, I. Tunisian there is no turning to you would work the chart as right side only. And if you watch youtube tutorials always do odd rows. For garter stitches do Tunisian reverse. If it says to slip stitch just draw up a loop. I'm still learning the knits out but that's what I figured out so far following knitting patterns.

I fell in love with Tunisian crochet when I was looking for an alternative to the log cabin style quilt and make my very first king size Afghan and it is my prize procession

I could never adapt to knitting! It takes all I can do to control one hook🤭 I LOVE Tunisian crochet because if the knit look, it's fun and my favorite reason is NO turning your work, especially with blankets!!!

I learned (and still learning) to Tunisian crochet because it looks like knitting. I am increasingly interested in knitting but haven’t been able to make the leap, so Tunisian crochet is the next best thing. Thank you for you tutorials, suggestions, and your weekly episodes. I am inspired by you!!

I found Tunisian Crochet about 3 months ago and I am in LOVE with it! It is fun and IMO soooo easy to begin! Knitting is not an option but I've been a pretty basic crocheter for a long time. I expect Tunisian is going to be with me for the rest of my life!

I've done some washcloths & a baby blanket in Tunisian and loved them; I loved the blanket so much, I'm going to have to do one for myself...😉 I'm now working on an asymmetrical shawl as well as a crocheted Shark Blanket/sack for my oldest grandson (5 yrs old). Love Tunisian...😊 I bought a set of doubled-ended Tunisian hooks because the look of things worked up in Tunisian with 2 colors (peaking thru each other) looks awesome but have not tried them yet. I've also purchased a set of knitting needles but haven't used them either; I have to learn... but too many crocheted projects in the works...🙃😆 Have a great evening! 🤗

I am so glad I watched this video. I've been doing the Tunisian stitch wrong for years. I noticed that you go front to back. I've been inserting my book under just the front leg of course right to left. I'm going to revisit this stitch since I haven't worked it for years.

seriously!!!! 1.i love it for the enormous amount of stitches possible , 2.it goes faster, you can see your project outcome sooner, BUT i am still looking for a way to NOT create a thick fabric. 3. started to choose lace like stitches (tunisian holds the shape better) although the math part makes me go hmmmmmm. 4. Colour changes seem to be easier, but that could just be me. I wouldn't mind some tips on that, and have changed over to all double ended tunisian hooks.

I already knew how to knit prior to learning Tunisian crochet, I have 3 yarn crafts now and I love every one of them. I'm currently working on a grocery bag that I chose to make the bottom be Tunisian because of it's thickness and how rigid it is when using a smaller hook. The rest will be mesh using a regular crochet hook. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I absolutely love Tunisian crochet. One of the reasons I love it is that Tunisian simple stitch fabric makes terrific cross stitch background. I made a personalized baby blanket using a Tunisian simple stitch background. Please consider doing a review on Tunisian interchangeable hook sets.

Always always wonderful video Brittany, I’m so happy every time I get notification of a new video from you! I hope one day you can revisit the crocodile stitch, I know you already have a tutorial on it, but I’m still having a difficult time learning how to do it! So happy to be a fan of yours since the very beginning and seeing your success grow💜

I enjoyed doing something different however I didn't care for the curling. I read somewhere to block it. The problem I have is would I have to block after washing and drying? Wouldn't be worth making anything in this style of craft...

Have to say, @ 1:28 ,just because its acrylic DOES NOT MEAN its soft. arg It can be very prickly and stiff too! "acrylic is extremely harmful to the environment. Despite all of the negatives that surround some of the natural fibers , one positive they all share is the fact that they are biodegradable. Acrylic yarn is plastic which means that it will take decades to completely break down." Its plastic. I too enjoy acrylic yarns, but buyer beware, they are not all soft.
