Jinkx and bianca were really in that sweet spot, once drag race got its footing and audience and before it became so incredibly mainstream and flooded the networks. Hence 2 of the strongest winners ever!

can't deny the winners since have had tons of opportunities, though! Aquaria attending the met gala, her, Symone and Violet all walking fashion show runways, multiple winners with sold out world tours... Love the exposition this show has gotten

@@sandra-jones it also causes many of them trauma, but due to contracts and NDA papers, they can't seek proper support, nor call out what it really is and what goes on behind the scenes. Katya, Alaska and many other queens have been trying to warn people for years.

She is so right when she’s talking about the spaces in between seasons because it seems like nowadays it’s too overproduced and they just churn out episodes and seasons so quickly that no one gets a chance to miss the show So I stopped watching after season nine

Same I stopped after 10. It’ll be literally only a week after a finale another season starts is such a turn off it was cool at the start but now it feels like you never get a break from drag race

@@luvluh well nowadays most don’t have time to be a focal point in media. Their reign is so fleeting and highly competitive. Haven’t seen a winner of regular season of US drag race be highly successful since the single digits

Be honest, most people remember seasons 1-7/8 and then after that its just a haze. Maybe season 13 bc of the top 4 but could you tell me off the top of your head who went out 2nd on season 8?

Youve got a point, but for me season 9 is still pretty memorable! But yh cant tell you most of what happens between s9-13 and i already know that as much as I enjoyed s14 while it aired I'll forget most of it in a few months... It was a good season but there weren't any iconic moments like in the single digits ones ://

The show is still a good jump-start but you're right the market is oversaturated with RuGirls. IMO what doesn't seem to matter is how you place within the show/competition. What matters is if you're able to build a lasting connection with an audience that's becoming more and more fickle and if you have the drive, smarts and a creative mind that will keep you booked without RuPaul holding your hand.

honestly i feel like thanks to drag race milking the world of drag for reality tv for so long, the art form didnt develop in a natural way.... there is somehow an oversaturation of extremely "polished" queens yet none of the passion for performing unless there is public validation involved. it's all a contest. drag was abt fun self expression, now it's exhausting to even think abt. maybe that's a "me" problem but i find it weird that every queen is airbrushed polished into oblivion social media influencer now but like.... it's not even fun to consume now

Bianca was a HUGE star here in NYC nightlife, Pre Drag Race. Im glad the rest of the world gets to see what we always knew here, lol. I remember when she came up from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, as a literal refugee. And look at her now. 👏🏽

Love the Lucille Ball look! I had an acting student that went on to be I her “Hurricane” shows. When I asked him about Bianca, he went on and on about how wonderful she was, hardworking, dedicated, professional, smart, and talked to EVERYONE on set like they were friends-knew names an info too! Nowadays, there's no space between seasons and I feel like it's a bad choice. We have no time to embrace and love the reigning queen of regular seasons because there are other two queens being crowned the same year.

She had more bottom twos yes but also more wins. Im not saying that she was the one clear winner but from what Ive seen she tied waith rose on track record and gottmik was behind. (How do you count so that simone ends 3rd ?). Anyway, this is not the heel i'm gonna die on and we can agree to disagree. Again, I agree in general with your point. I just don't hold it to the same standard as I consider that the last music video episode might account for 1 win/bottom that is not revealed.

So true when you say when the show mattered. These back to back seasons are too much. I stopped watching after Bobs season. "We're Here" has turned into a lifetime movie, ugh. A lot of new queens have no idea about what gays and the art of drag had to go through in order to be where it us today. How many ppl died, were beat uo, thrown in asylums, disowned by families and sometimes whole communities. Drag Race is no longer drag. It is a costume party nowadays.

Bianca hosted the event and Jinkx performed at it. Jinkx tweeted the next day that it was the best night of her life because she met Bianca. Michelle was actually the one that crowned Jinkx. Bianca said in one of her interviews that she purposely kept away as much as she could when it happened, because she knew she was going to do S6 and she thought it would appear sus.
