My Brother. The Green motors are off a Jigsaw. Bosch ST EP 564. I've interchanged a few of mine, with motors out of a jigsaw. Direct replacement. I tend to find that plastic rod that runs from the thumb slide back to the switch, is the first thing to stuff up. No offence to Dyjak or Dapra. But you will often find replacement parts, from any power tool service centre that deals with Bosch. Regards Phil.

Hey Phil, That is good to know about Bosch. That plastic piece did go bad on one of mine. I have been sick for a month and finally got back out to the shop. Covid finally caught up with me. Thanks for the tips brother! Daryl

@@OtherBrotherDarylSmith My apologies. I've mixed my German Power Tool companies up. It Metabo rather then Bosch, according the my saved Ebay search. Part number is still the same STEP 564. One of the variants was Bosch. I'm thinking the newer Black ones. Regards Phil.

@@pjfmachine I have been told the newer black ones are under-powered. I just got a quote for a new BL10 and a new HM 10, and I will be sticking to the old green ones. $5049.99 for the BL10 and $4676.55 for the HM10. Biax has raised their prices $700 since May.

Dapra no longer sells scrapers or parts directly to the public. You have to go thru a local distributor.

Isn't your motor rotated 180 degrees from normal? I don't think it matters much, but maybe it will confuse people. Also the motor is Metabo sourced, the model number is correct, it's just not from Bosch. As far as the shoe contact surfaces wearing before the 'wear plates' I noticed this as well. I made replacement plates out of Phosphor Bronze and am hoping they hold up well enough and do not damage the difficult to replace shoe. They specify a 0.02mm gap, which is tight, and oil (I noticed you seem to be using grease there.)

Are you referring to the windings that are held in by the 2 screws I mentioned in the video? It is very possible as this scraper had been completely taken apart by the previous owner and assembled with the on/off switch on the bottom. A friend sent me your article last night that you wrote on the restoration of your BL-40. I haven't had a chance to read it yet so it should shed some light on what you are referring to. That article was very detailed. Thanks for that! Daryl

@@OtherBrotherDarylSmith Thanks! Yes, what I was referring to is that the entire motor body is rotated 180 degrees. The power switch is oriented to be on the top of the machine from the factory, so I was surprised to see that. There's no problem with doing that that I can think of, but it made me wonder if you had some purpose for assembling it that way.

@@Bakafish I didn't even realize that until I went back and looked at the video. I threw it back together just to do the video and I didn't even realize that until now. YES, I can see where that would be confusing. I can't believe I screwed that up. Yes, it can be used that way but it would be very hard to turn on and off with it oriented in that position, especially with my beat up hands. Thanks for pointing that out. Now it's out there for the world to see!
