NOTICE: "BURNT OFFERINGS"! It´s all about a specific temple ritual and how long this ritual continues before new rites are restored and in order. The entire vision has nothing to do with kings and emperors historically taking over this or that land. Daniels vision takes place “in heaven” conversing with “a mythical and speaking one horned he-goat which doesn´t touch the ground”, hence this celestial goat has nothing to do with terrestrial empires and kingdoms and cannot logically symbolize any terrestrial land at all. Here, historians can look for the time when the burnt offerings ended in the temples to get the dating of the “2300 days” compared to the estimated dating of Daniels visions. (Most probably at the time when the worshipping of the Golden Calf was forbidden as well). Historians or other academics, who themselves have no experiences of spiritual visions or have no clues of the mythical language and its universal symbolism, have no other options but to take such things literally and interpret everything according to their present biased horizontal world perception of human behaviors, including stupid religious and secular powers wars. And the sentence in Daniel about it being the 18th years of Nebucadnezer's son is actually a sentence meant to say "and there were 18." I see these as timelines to the Messiah (the time of Jesus). I disagree with the common interpretation of the 4th beast being Rome. I believe these represent political powers that usurp and reign over God's people and the promised land. But most overlook/forget about a political power that controlled the promised land between Greece and Rome. This political power had 10 kings (depending on how one counts) that were not supposed to be kings (not from the line of Judah). One can read about this dynasty in many pre-1800 bibles.

Here’s one you probably never heard before. Those legs do become the ten toes and it’s all European kings. Three have already been subdued by the little horn. Little here means younger. The three kings are countries that have literal kings. Britain, France, and Spain all fought and lost in America. The Dutch remained neutral. It’s easy to connect America looking at Rev. It’s quite amazing actually how it all seamlessly fits together.

While I disagree with your interpretation of Daniel in places (including the end of Daniel 2 and the empires represented in Daniel 7), I respect the amount of thought you have put into this, Dr. Tabor. Fwiw, I would concur with the DSS, church fathers, and NT on Rome being the fourth earthly kingdom for Daniel 2, but I don't think the legs of the Daniel 2 statue need to extend into the modern period, for the fifth kingdom I think was meant to be a spiritual kingdom (a new phase of the religious tradition) that would span the globe but originate prior to when both legs of the Roman Empire would collapse. With hindsight, we see that the only two candidates remain as live options for fulfilling the basic criteria implied by the Book of Daniel: Christianity and Islam.

When did Rome fall though? It divided into Western Rome and Eastern Byzantine (Two legs perhaps?), when the western side fell, 476 AD (note the Papacy never did) the eastern side continued. Charlemagne was crowned Holy Roman Emperor in 800AD and even though the position was officially abolished in 1806, the title still gets passed down through a hereditary line. Then we also need to look at the Eastern Byzantine Empire that lasted until 1453, which was conquered by the Ottoman Empire which lasted until the 1900s. What you have in their wake is a loose confederation made up of the nations that used to be a part of each half of the empire: European Union/Nato, and the Arab League. You are at Chapter 8, Chapter 9 is next and identifies Rome, as they are the people who cut off the Anointed One and destroyed the sanctuary.

It's not going to be pleasant across the board

Nowhere in Dan. 7 does it mention Nebuchadnezzar or Babylon, like it does in Dan. 2. The lion is the British Empire, the wings of an eagle that were torn from the lion's back are the American colonies in the Revolutionary War. Then the lion is raised up and becomes a man, which is the empire ceasing to be a beast when it gave up rulership of the nations it once controlled. So Dan. 7 is about the end of the age, all four beasts are said to exist at the coming of Christ. Only the fourth beast is killed in the fire. The others are allowed to live, but must give up their control to the Kingdom of Christ.

The problem you highlight is not difficult to solve: the Greek little horn, Antiochus 4, is clearly enough distinguished from the Fourth Beast's little horn from chapter 7. It is a mistake to conflate them as you have done (and "critical" scholars do too). The sequence of kingdoms are Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and then the Fourth Kingdom, and then the Kingdom of God. In Daniel, the kingdom that follows Greece is not Antiochus 4, it is Israel under the Maccabees. The Greek little horn sets up the Abomination of Desolation and stops the sacrifices for 1150 days. But, the desolation portended and threatened was averted. The text clearly states this in 8:9-14. The "latter end" in chapter 8 is the latter end of their kingdom, as qualified in 8:23. This is "many days" from the time of the historical Daniel the captive under Babylon (as stated in 8:26) but that time is not the time of the end, that is, the time of the end of the Fourth Kingdom, when the Kingdom of God comes in power. The point of the book of Daniel is that the Maccabees are NOT the kingdom of God. The book glosses over the Maccabees in the most nonplussed manner: "the people who know their God shall stand firm [against Antiochus 4] and take action" (11:32). The result of this event is that the 62 sevens, the time of trouble, continues, and the wise do not prevail, rather, Israel is divided into wise and foolish, and the foolish prevail FOR A LONG TIME FURTHER: "And the wise among the people shall make many understand, though for some days they shall stumble by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder. When they stumble, they shall receive a little help. And many shall join themselves to them with flattery, and some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, purified, and made white, until the time of the end, for it still awaits the appointed time." (11:33-35). The time of the end is at the time that a rebellion breaks out in Israel, resulting in the destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Temple: a second "little horn" emerges, and cuts off an anointed one (i.e. the legitimate governor or government of Second Temple Israel), and sets up another Abomination of Desolation, and likewise stops the sacrifices. This rebel government rules for time, times and half a time, or half seven, and then desolations are decreed in the war to the end. The Second Temple falls at the end of the age, as stated in 9:24-27, following the rebellion and the further Abomination of Desolation. This rebellion is referred to is the Fourth Beast's little horn overthrowing the prior horns in chapter 7, and it is the resurrection of the unjust to be condemned in 12:2. As a result of the stoppage of the sacrifices a second time, this time for 1290 days or 1335 days, or "time, times and half a time" then "when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished" (12:7). The Fourth Kingdom destroyed when the Kingdom of God comes, according to Daniel as written and as we have it, is Second Temple Israel, wayward Israel, as the divided kingdom, that would be totally shattered, ground to powder and blown away like chaff before the wind, when the Second Temple falls. This is not unique to Daniel, this is the standard Jewish eschatological narrative: the old Jerusalem is destroyed and put to death as the Dragon Leviathan, the snake beast from the sea (Is. 27), and as the Old Heaven and Earth (Is. 65-66). The nations would be gathered for battle against Jerusalem: "the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile" (Zech 14:2). This is the point of the book of Daniel: the kingdom of the Maccabees, Second Temple Israel, restored as a nation, would be utterly crushed and shattered when the Kingdom of God comes in power, in the distant future after the Maccabees. The 62 sevens had generations more time to go: do the math. 490 years from the time of the order to rebuild Jerusalem in 539 BCE gets you to about 49 BCE, nearly 120 years after the Maccabees. I don't think the numbers should be taken too literally or exactly, but the seventy sevens is not apparently done in 167 BCE. If Daniel was written in 167 BCE to hail the Maccabees as ushering in the Kingdom of God, then we would not be talking about 70 sevens after the 70 years of Babylonian exile, it would be 49 sevens or a Jubilee of sevens or seven Jubilees. And the references to the Maccabees and their feats and kingdom would be overwhelmingly positive. I think the book was written after the Maccabees to answer the rather obvious question then relevant to its original audience: Is this it? Have we arrived? Do we put our hope in this kingdom? The book was written by the "wise" after the Maccabees who are wondering why the "foolish" people in Israel are in charge rather than themselves. The message is that the kingdom dominated by the fools in Israel was doomed, and that the kingdom of God would come and be handed over to the wise only when Second Temple Israel and the Second Temple was destroyed at the time of the end, which was still far off from that generation. The message is to tolerate the political situation of the "time of trouble" that they found themselves in for the long haul. The book never says that the end is near, nor is it that the end has arrived. Rather, the message is that the time of trouble will last for the foreseeable future, until the utter destruction of the kingdom as the Maccabees had recovered it, along with the Second Temple. It makes perfect sense for them to use Antiochus 4 as a prefigure for the tyrant who would take over their kingdom and bring their earthly temple to destruction to be replaced by a kingdom "made without hands" (Dan. 2:34,45), that is a spiritual rather than a political kingdom, that would last forever.

We will take a simple little verse and show you why it is not addressed to the natural man, Ecclesiastes 3:15: “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.” The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

Actually Daniel did not say Alexander of Macedonia He called him the Prince of Javan which translates to King of the Hellenes ( Greeks) The word Macedonia is never used anywhere in Daniel So it's the 3rd empire is the Greek Empire as told in Daniel

Messiah means the annointed ones, christi-anity has falsely claimed it to be only one person alone! That's why by misunderstanding it's true meaning, it has contradicted what christ, annointed or blessed actually means. Of cause the person they call Jesus was blessed, but he is not God or some part of God at all, he rightly submitted to the One True God. He is right but christi-anity is its own opposite it is the anti-christ. It rejects what christos rrally means, those who overcame evil to reach for the tree of life and live forever! They are not God they are the bene-ficiaries of the original promise made by God in genesis!

I watch half of this video and enjoy it. I wonder what Your opinion will be if You place a caliphate Empire in place of Rome. You’ll get a different outcome or perspective. Because the Roman Empire only went as Far as Syria and the Christian Bible states the Antichrist is also called the Assyrian and the Ten nations that he control will mostly be islamic nations that come to invade Israel. I know Christians ethics and study’s says a new Roman Empire will rise, but You must look further and see that revelations is talking in metaphors and riddles that leads to clues that when the Antichrist does comes he will bring forth a new Caliphate and the mix clay and stones is a metaphor of the ten nations that will join with him in the end times. I know this idea or theory is nuts, but when thinking outside of the box it fully in some details. Also Islam version of revelations when compared to the Christian version is in reverse. That is something to do a new topic on for a new video.

The apocalyptic jews and their descendants were wrong. The beginning of Pisces was not a problem, but the close of the Age certainly will be. Of considerable interest to us in a year that Aquarius stands as the Archer, the Bow has gone to Virgo, the Lioness has again attacked Taurus, and Orion has rejoined his Father. The secret is in the last verse of Matthew. "And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the Age."

WAIT A MINUTE!!! The math here DOESN'T make sense! The CLOSEST you can get to a period of 2300 Days is 365 X SIX and a "half" years, which equals a little over that : 2372.5 days. And 365 days X three and (not quite) half years is 1277.5 days; NOT 1150!! REMEMBER: "Daniel" 9:27 states the prince of the people who is to come that will destroy the city and the sanctuary will "make a strong covenant with many FOR ONE WEEK" (or SIX and a HALF YEARS) and that "for HALF OF THE WEEK [ THREE and a HALF YEARS] he shall cause sacrifice and offering to cease and upon the wings of Abomination shall come One who makes desolate until the decree END is poured out on the Desolator." So NOWHERE does 1150 days apply. And the "JOHN" author of the Christian "Apocalypsis" must have been using the ESSENE SOLAR calendar of 360 Days for a Year because he terms the time of Desolation of the Sanctuary for "THREE AND A HALF YEARS" as 1260 DAYS.... SEVENTEEN LESS than the "Daniel" Prophecy uses!! 🤔
